The season 3 premiere episode will air again Saturday at 9EST according to Peter. They are trying to bring the viewers back. I think there was just too many shows premiering the same week and its TV viewer overload.. Thanks for the info ircam....I was going to watch it on line tomorrow--now I can just tune in at 8CST.

If the rating fail CBS, that means Lenkov did a really bad job on the episode. Your suppose to fire him. I don't think this move will work. I don't think that's what it means at all. If people weren't watching the episode, how would they know he did a bad job on it? As Ircam stated, there was so much going on Monday night, it was an overload for TV viewers. This was one episode. It's certainly not a good thing the ratings were this low, but let's wait it out and see how the next new episode does. I'm glad they're re-airing the premiere. I can't imagine it would get that many viewers, most fans either have seen it already, or have DVR'd it. It's very interesting though, that they decided to re-air it.

You make it sound like you're equating ratings with the quality of a show. That's not at all what ratings mean. Some very good shows have been cancelled because of low ratings (i.e., not enough people watching). I'm not going to worry too much about the ratings after one episode of S3 because of the shows ABC and NBC are showing at the same time. One has been around longer than H5-0 and has a loyal following. The other, right now, is being watched out of curiosity; it hasn't had time to develop a loyal audience and maybe won't. If Revolution sustains its number after a few more episodes and H5-0 continues to trail miserably ... okay, maybe then I'll be concerned. I've always thought that Tuesday night was a better night for the show because of the lead-ins. Four comedies are just not going to necessarily appeal to the same audience that watches H5-0. It needs a lead-in that appeals to the same audience and already has strong numbers.

actually yeah, i've always been surprised by the fact H5-0 is even on monday nights, because the 4 shows before it are comedies. i think it would be more suited for tuesday nights, considering ncis and ncis la are both on at 8 and 9 respectfully. although the new show vegas is on at ten on tuesday at 10p. would that be a good idea to move a new show around so soon?

from what i'm reading on twitter, there was good rating last night 44% rise. as unaware of ratings in the states, i'm gonna go out on a limb and say that's very good.

The ratings that were being discussed on twitter were in reference to the Live + 3 numbers for Mon 9/24 which for H50 increased by +44% (the 18-49 demo, that is).
Ratings for Sat night re-broadcast were low only 3.6M viewers (.7 in demo) and came in 3rd behind football and Law & Order SVU re-broadcast of season premiere.
Here's an interesting article from the Honolulu's Star Advertiser...
'Five-0' needs some change if its ratings are to rebound The disappointing performance of CBS' "Hawaii Five-0" in its third-season launch Monday night is a wake-up for change. The CBS procedural drew its smallest audience ever in what was the worst season launch in three years (8 million viewers), following ABC's "Castle" (No. 1, with 11.4 million) and NBC's "Revolution" (11 million). Instead of more new characters this season and recurring faces from past shows, H50 should de-clutter and regroup — with scripts that play down romance in favor of action. And please — enough with Shelburne, already. Move on. Also, get back stories off the burner and minimize soap opera tactics. Capitalize on action and drama against Hawaii's landscape. "Five-0" needs a quick Plan B to reshape Season 3 to reverse the low-trending, particularly since the competish boasts popular lead-in shows: "The Voice" on NBC and "Dancing with the Stars" on ABC. Restore the fervor. Give Alex O'Loughlin what audiences want: more skin, not romance. "Five-0" will be picked up by TNT for USA-type cable syndication enjoyed by "NCIS" and "NCIS: Los Angeles" and the "Law & Order" franchise, so don't expect cancellation —yet. …

Woo, tough talk from a local! But he says what most of us think, TPTB can hardly miss it. Hope they pay attention.

This guy has always written negative reviews for H50 from the very 1st episode, so take what he says with a grain of salt.

CBS and Lenkov are losers if they don't listen. Seriously I'm starting to lose my patience with this show

It seems like they decided at the last minute to reair the premiere. Not enough time to hype it up. I went out of town Friday afternoon and did not know about it being reaired. I watched it Monday but my DVR didn't tape it (totally my DVRs fault, by the way, and that's my story and I am sticking to it). Would have loved to DVR it on Saturday if I had known sooner. Think the show really needs to be promoted more by the network, by the fans, by whomever.

And perhaps not to have so many backstories going at once and focus more on single story episodes. That was basically what we had in season one and it worked great. Yes, I know we had backstories in the first season, but they didn't seem to intrude as much as they did last season, but that's just the way I see it.

the story lines reminds me a little of Gibbs' backstory of NCIS and his history of his first wife. now THAT got old. Gibbs backstory was always on the back burner but this is up on the front burner. Question to all: if your mother just showed up out of the blue after all these years, and then she lied about shooting the bad guy as he fled, wouldn't you go out and find out why she lied in the first place? I know I would if I had the resources.
This show shows what some real life things that go on. It is a show that has a family connection between the cast. Alot of them have said that they have the greatest job in the world. When a cast gets along and has fun during filming and off and it becomes a well oiled machine.
Good job cast and crew. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
