That saying came from Texas, of course. It's just like that, except we don't get cold as soon as you do. Never quite figured that out.
Rained on Sunday, gray on Monday (till late afternoon), today sunny and still in the 80s for the week, I'll take 80s any day. You should see the dreadful situation with trees and stuff though. That rain perked up my trees, but there are a lot of half-dead ones all over, half brown and half green. And ominously leaning ones, along with leaning fences, from the ground shriveling up under them. And last but not least, the streets are coming apart. Usually it's freezes that bust up the pavement but now it's drought. I wonder what things will look like next summer after this and whatever winter will do.

Yeah, who knows how it will look. Here the rivers are starting to fill up again. Hey, speaking of rivers, how is that whole recovery thing going. Something about a piece of history being found in a pond or something, did they get it. Where did they take it?

Don't know what you mean. Doesn't sound familiar.

Oh, i thought that someone in Texas had discovered something like part of a plane that was real old or something. And the only way they found it was because of the drought, but i guess i got the wrong state in mind....sorry my bad.

Could easily be in Texas, just not up here. Sounds interesting!

Now we here in the southwest have the worst case scenario, this one ain't nice:
Temperatures have a 25-30 degree drop from normal daytime temps, but no precipitation. So we got cold, but no wet, and high winds.
The drought sucks.

Did you say drought. I would give anything for that right now. We have had downpours for 5 days straight and no sign of letting up. Tropical downpours, not just rain. The streets and lakes are flooded and last night spawned 3 tornados. Luckily the tornados hit near the everglades, so few homes were affected. But the entire South East portion of the state is very WET. The upside is the temperature dropped to 75.

Yikes, ircam! Florida is such a mean state. I hope you do get some (mini) drought soon.
Here, though, it's as if we woke up in another universe. Amazing how you forget what it was like the last time it was any other way. For the past couple of days it hasn't even hit 70, Glory Hallelujah! I've been sleeping under the comforter, and even put the heat on last night. That's actually unusual for October. But it's glorious.

@margarine It can be, but November until May is absolutely gorgeous. Blue skies and temperatures between 55 - 70. That is why we put up with all the BS of the summer months. I hope this is not an indication that you are going to have a brutal winter.

the rain followed me to spain, but oh my goodness, they have different kind of rain down there, in ireland we slight drops of rain, in spain they have big monster drops of rain, rain that could hurt you if you weren't protected. my poor oul mother was driven to distraction and was getting annoyed because i was like "whatever, it happens" which annoyed her even more. i was excited when we got a damn decent thunder storm. made my holiday actually!!! in ireland don't get many of them. so rather happy!!!
back in ireland now, where it's 6C and it's freezing.

HAHAHAHA! That's so funny, irish! That's how it is in Texas. When I was in junior high we moved to Southern California, and the rain there was so soft, you could walk to school and barely get wet. It was like another planet. But lovely. We moved back 3 years later. When I've been in England it was usually that sort of rain, except one summer in London there was a blammo rain - not even really a thunderstorm - just like here, and it made headlines. People thought it was the wrath of the gods. Yep, in Texas rain you practically need a helmet.
