Yikes!! What the heck happened last night. I really thought we would get more of a ratings bump than this and at least beat Castle in overall viewers and in demo. As it was we barely squeaked past Castle in the demo department.
CBS Hawaii Five-0 2.5 (18-49 demo) 10.76 (Million Viewers) ABC Castle 2.4(18-49 demo) 11.38(Million Viewers) NBC Smash 1.8(18-49 demo) 5.40(Million Viewers)

Question: do you think that maybe this is because of Alex's absence? Not to take away anything from the rest of the cast, but he is the top billed star...

I did not have a chance to see the 2nd part yet, have to watch tonight. But according to Tv By The Numbers, the 2nd part ratings to the crossover were 3.0/15.

From TVByTheNumbers re: NCIS:LA's ratings last night...
NCIS: Los Angeles, which featured a Hawaii Five-O crossover, got a 3.0 in adults 18-49 up 25% from the 2.4 for its last original on April 10.
I guess the crossover helped NCIS:LA more than H50....

I guess the crossover helped NCIS:LA more than H50.... Not really, considering that NCISLA has been averaging 15.60 million live viewer per episode this season. Which means that this episode is just little lower than what they normally get for an episode, so having H50 characters on it really didn't bring in new viewers. Now H50 did get a little bounce in that it has been averaging 10.55 million live viewers and it got 10.91 million live viewers for the first part of the crossover. But honestly, I would have expected a much bigger jump in the number, than what it got.

Just goes to show we H50 fans are a loyal bunch - we will follow them anywhere - even over to a show some of us don't watch at all or don't watch on a regular basis. Either NCIS:LA fans did not know about the crossover (have they been hiding under a rock?) or didn't care. Don't know which.

I know promos probably vary by area, but I saw tons of promos for it on TV. It was all over the H50/NCISLA facebook pages. I know not everyone who watches the shows are on the internet, but like I said, they had plenty of promos throughout 2 weeks or so. I don't know what happened. Maybe the NCISLA fans just didn't care? Or maybe it was because 5-0 is on an hour later? I don't know.
