That's what reboots are. They are not the originals, they are not a continuation, they are what could have been had someone else done them. Have you checked the Starsky and Hutch or Charlies' Angels movies? Did they have anything to do with the originals? Yet people accepted them and liked them. And compared to those, this reboot is pretty faithful to the original.

It was never intended to be the old show. I would not have minded if this show was not called Hawaii Five-0 but yes it may not be intended to be the old show but that does not mean that this show has to be in this state (mindless action, characters acting like action figures etc. etc.) Is there anything at all that you do like about the show? I wonder why you are watching it if you dislike it so much. There must be something that brings you to watch every week. Why not try to focus on that, you will feel so much better about the show if you do.

I guess ill take it easy on the negitivity here for now. Like I said before that the reason why I watch this show was because of the modern setting. The only thing I don't like the most is how the story is told and how people acted. However I'm still willing to give this a season chance, I also still have to watch it to recap it on my wordpress. I understand why you guys like this show, however most people don't like what they saw. Again I apologize if I'm going overboard here

It isn't necessary for them to do it, but they do pay tribute to the original. But back to the ratings - I like to see the ratings glass as half full after last night – better than the week before but a lot of ground to make up. I think that the nonsense that went on last season cost the show alot of viewers. NBC smelled the blood in the water and threw a legit contender in the ring which hasn’t helped to bring back viewers to H50. Harry’s Law, the Playboy Club, Smash… didn’t make a significant dent. JJ Abrams and Revolution has. Let’s hope the initial fascination with that show wavers some more and H50 gains as a result.

Well the rating might improve with the next episode. Since it looks promising. Pray hard

Well, that's good. The demo has crawled up a bit, and the gap has closed between Revolution and H5O in terms of total viewers.
The total viewer numbers for Revolution have dropped remarkably from week 1 to week 2 to week 3. It will be interesting to follow its progress through the season. Does The Voice take a break the way DWTS does? I'm curious how Revolution will do without its lead-in. Castle is affected hugely when DWTS isn't on.

I just got done watching the Revolution episode online. It's terrific. Killer show. I don't know how online viewing figures into the networks' calculations - I'm sure it's been brought up before but I don't remember - but does that find its way into ratings that get published? If it doesn't, then it might account for the times when shows get cancelled and shows get renewed, and it doesn't make any sense to us. Some online has commercials, but - for instance - I've watched Grimm, Revolution, Once Upon a Time, and The Mentalist, and I think none of them had commercials from the networks. I'm not sure where all you can watch online with and without commercials, but you'd think they could track it. Couldn't say what advertisers might think about it.

Because I agree with all of these, and they were awesome responses and therefore deserve to be posted again. It was never intended to be the old show. Bingo! >>Reboot.<< I would not have minded if this show was not called Hawaii Five-0 but yes it may not be intended to be the old show but that does not mean that this show has to be in this state (mindless action, characters acting like action figures etc. etc.) Is there anything at all that you do like about the show? I wonder why you are watching it if you dislike it so much. There must be something that brings you to watch every week. I must say, before I signed onto this thread, I read it as "Public". Now I am going to say this: (my perception & opinion) The negatvity toward the show, the actors, producers, writers, directors, stunts and scripts don't belong on this board. Wasn't it said some time ago that the powers to be (CBS) read this board.? We should be a whole lot more supportive, enjoying the challenge of figuring out storylines . (fantasy which relieves our daily stress). I enjoy this thread a whole lot more when different people see different clues and share them. This board has a wide diversity of people watching H50, here in the USA and abroad, it makes for great sharing. What I believe, the more positive this board is the more we "might" be able to influence people to watch our show - end result Sky High Ratings.

I want to thank Sanmars for bringing up a very important point. Many of the sections are open for everyone (meaning anyone can read them, member or not). With that in mind, remember this: Peter Lenkov visited this board. Who knows if he still does? The point is, people that are involved with the show can read the things we post. And I would bet some probably do. I'm all for freedom of speech, and speaking your mind. But I implore you to think about what you're posting, especially if it's about people involved with the show. For example: Peter Lenkov. He could be reading this. Someone who's in contact with him could be reading this. Just please, please, please keep that in mind. Thank you.
