- no word on Fong's condition. Lenkov's way of poking gentle fun at the fans for all our fears over the past season. Oh my gosh,... I'd totally forgotten about Fong! You're right, biochemgeek, we got nothing on him at all. Not even one Max getting a phone update on him, which would have been easy to squeeze in. Your comments about PL poking fun at viewers, is right along the lines of my thoughts, and I hope we're both right.

If it turns out Wo Fat isn't related, I'll tip my hat off to PL for fooling us. But after all his big announcements and promises.... not holding my breath. I'll settle for related, but not half-brothers - that way he can always say we didn't guess it correctly, and it's somehow removed a bit from Steve. Agreed that it was a convoluted plot with all the little twists and turns, but like someone said, that's kind of signature, and I don't really mind it. At least it's a bit different than everything else we've seen. Lots of action? Again, signature, although with an earlier showing time, they may have to cut down on the violence and gore especially - no more creepy Max bits, I guess. Yeah, the Cath+Steve reunion wasn't too bad. And yes she was damsel in distress, but she did fight and try to tell Steve not to give El Condor what he wanted, so she's still a tough cookie. Yes, WWF looks exactly like Half-Face. I guess he's going to be scarred forever now??? Damn.

Was the Navy guy involved in the plot, since he's the one that got Cath out on the road? Or just coincidence? I wondered the same thing, Dani. Could only assume that if he had been involved, that it would have become more obvious later in the episode. I was thinking the Navy guy was legit but the terrorists knew Cath would run to Steve so they sabotaged her car and sent the truck to kidnap her.

For me the only bad thing in that episode was the beginning, it was unrealistic that Steve didn't get hurt, he was in the line of fire, even if he was shielding himself with that guy. The rest of episode was awesome, even the new S.W.A.T guy( just not sure how to write his name) was cool, and that moment when Steve is puting his gun on him, oh I'm sensing some problems between Steve and him. And I really wish for Steve to not cut his hair like this again...ever.

It was a fun episode. The plot made little sense, but that's H50:) With all of the resources that go into producing this show, you would think they could invest in sharper writing. It's best just to watch and enjoy the show and not think about it too much. Only MG or the Phantom could have gotten out of that prison situation.
I sure hope they have a better idea than the half brother route. I'm pretty optimistic that they do.

I don't know if any of you have this problem, but sometimes I cannot understand what the actors are saying. Either they are not speaking clearly or the music is too loud or I am going a bit deaf. Anyway, in the scene where Steve is trying to revive the guy and Danny starts talking about Gabby - what is Danny saying after he says something about him being happy for once then he started thinking about Kono leaving, then the part I can't understand, and getting shot at?

Cookiejar: I don't have any problems with understanding what actors are saying, I mean I can repeat what they are saying, but not always understand all of it, but that's because I'm not native English speaker, so I think Im having a good excuse, but that's rarely is happening and I can just grab a dictionary and etc. I think that's depends from how you're watching it, I for example always watch when it's quiet, usually at night, with earbuds in my ears, not too loud and I have no problems. But I don't know maybe some people have problems with the sound, sometimes when music it's not matching with the scene, it's a bit hard to focus on the words actors are saying.
Maxis: I'm not saying I didn't enjoyed the show, usually I don't even think what's bad in it or what was good, but sometimes I wish for the H5-0 to be more realistic, at least a bit. I love superheroes, but McGarrett it's not one of them, he is just a guy, ok maybe not a normal guy, but still. And geez don't let them be brothers, that would be so ridiculous and not even surprising, so I hope that PL did thought about it like that and is having other plans for us.

I am just going to throw this out there, because it has been bugging me since season 1 and especially last season since Mama McD showed up un-dead. I think Doris is Wo Fat's Mom. I think Steve is the result of a union between John McGarret and Governor Pat Jameson. That way Wo Fat and Steve are not blood brothers.
You may now dump on me for my silly theory......
I thought it was a good episode overall....but really did stretch the bounds of reality a few times---so what else is new? I think they had Catherine do the damsel in distress thing so it hammered home how Steve really feels about Catherine, even though he is unwilling to admit it out loud to anyone. This is just a setup for when Cath starts to work for Billy and Steve can be jealous and whatever else PL has up his sleeve for that story arc.
I am thinking full immunity and means is back in force. Seems that 5-0 did lots of crazy last night and breaking the law and they come through smelling like roses.
And lastly, I hope that Max can process the blood test quickly so we know sooner, rather than later, what's going on.......

I also thought that maybe Doris is WoFat's mom but not Steve's. So the test results will come back negative. But then the question is who are Steve's parents. I really hope PL doesn't go down this road. That is too much like a soap opera.

That is even worse than theory about Steve and Wo Fat being brothers, because that would mean that he lost his mom for 20 years and she wasn't even his mom. That would be a big rock to carry for Steve and Doris. I don't even want to think what would Steve do after news like that. Cookiejar, you're welcome;-)

Catherine's car was obviously tampered with regardless.

I use the Closed Caption button once in a while for that same reason. Danny: "Gabby she's, uh, she's in town. Alright? And um, for a minute there, I thought I was actually happy. Which is a weird thing for me, because I don't really know what that means, but... ya know, I had forgotten about Kono leaving, I forgot about Salgado and his son, I forgot about getting shot at, again. And then the phone rang. I had to tell Gabby I'm going somewhere, so I turn to her, and I sit her down, and I say, 'Don't move. I'll be right back.'" Steve: "Instead of what?" Danny: "I don't know. I figure I could've said something better than that." (guy starts breathing here) Danny: "Let's hear it for the Boyscouts of America. Nice work, buddy." Steve: "Wait a minute.... what were you gonna do? What were you gonna tell her? That you loved her or somethin'?" Danny: "I don't know. I mean, maybe." Steve: "Okay, well, you know what? Maybe you should be sure. How about that. Before you say something like that to a woman, okay? Because once you say it, you can't unsay it. You understand me? It's a serious thing." Danny: "I understand that. You speaking from experience? Because I personally don't think it counts when you say it to a pistol." On a similar note, I used the Contact button on CBS' site to inquire about the ongoing issue of background music being too loud, then received this reply from CBS Audience Services.... Thank you for writing to CBS. We appreciate your comments about the audio mix and will share them with the producers of the program. Occasionally, we have found that viewers who experience an overly loud background music playback sometimes have a stereo television and that the “front surround” feature is activated. This would move the rear surround, usually music and sound effects, information to the main speakers. Regardless, we will alert the editors and producers to your comments. Cordially, Ray Faiola Director, CBS Audience Services
