Well, that certainly didn't take long. TVByTheNumbers predict that H50 will not be renewed at the end of the season due to it's move to Friday nights after only one episode. Here is what they said exactly:
I'm not sure that agree that this sentiment as I think it is way to early in the season to make predictions on how the show is going do and what CBS's decision about the show will be.

It's not gonna happen. I'm sure there will be a fifth season because Hawaii Five-0 is not THAT bad but it'svery mixed but that does not mean the show will not be renewed

I want to believe that's not going to happend, but lets just say the numbers aren't good. For now I'm just happy that we can watch 4th season, after final episode we can speculate because, everything it's still possible.

I really hope it continues. There's still so much that this show can do. Watching year 1 on TNT has reminded me why I developed such an affection for this show in the first place.

It's not gonna happen. I'm sure there will be a fifth season because Hawaii Five-0 is not THAT bad but it'svery mixed but that does not mean the show will not be renewed I'd say the skipping Sundays refers to the fact that a Sunday slot would be considered better than a Friday one, so they only put loser shows on on Fridays. Ie, H50 would have been put on Sundays if they considered it still had a chance. If this is the case, I hope they eat their words.

Personally, I think Sundays on CBS is actually worse than Fridays, as CBS has the NFL on Sunday's which always run over, which then pushes the start times of the evening shows back and then makes it next to impossible to DVR them, unless you want to sit there all night long waiting for the dang show you want to start. And, I would imagine that most people would just wind up giving up on the show, if they didn't know time the show started because it was a different time each week.

Hi Everyone! Just thought I would check in here now that S4 is underway. I wanted to point out a few statistical things that we have seen so far and explain why I think the prediction of cancellation is extremely premature at this point. Admittedly, the season premiere ratings were a bit disappointing demo-wise, but viewer-wise, they were actually quite encouraging. 9.4M viewers TY vs only 7.8M viewers LY is actually a +20% increase in viewers and the fact that this pick up was achieved on Fri vs Mon LY is even more encouraging. Additionally when comparing the season premiere viewer ship of 9.4M to the average viewer ship of S3 (which was 8.99M viewers), ep 401 beat that average by 5.5%....in my mind that would be a good thing, not a call for cancellation. Demo-wise a 1.6 vs 1.9 LY is only a -16% decrease and I am sure CBS anticipated a drop when they moved the show from Mon to Fri - successful shows that air on Fri will almost always have lower average demos than hit shows that air Mon-Thurs and the expectation is as such. Les Moonves even stated that Fridays were more about viewership than demo. Additionally, H50 was actually the #2 watched show on all of Fri night, right behind Blue Bloods - this has to count for something and be seen as a positive for CBS. One other thing that must be called out here is that the prediction table published by Tom Shaw under the heading "Bubble Watch" was posted on Sept 29th before all shows even had their season premiers. The Good Wife and The Mentalist had not aired new eps yet and how they do ratings-wise TY will most certainly impact the fate of H50 since they are all older dramas whose ratings have eroded over the years. Once TGW and TM aired and posted less than amazing numbers: TGW = 1.5 demo/9.15M viewers & TM = 1.6 demo/9.7M viewers, it is quite obvious that H50's numbers are in the same range and yet there have not been definative pronouncements that these shows will both be cancelled as well. In fact if you look at the other chart TVByTheNumbers put together with under their renew/cancel column, they actually gave H50 4 smiley faces which translates to "more likely to be renewed than cancelled" check out the whole chart here: tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2013/10/01/cbs-hostages-mom-are-likely-to-be-canceled/205414/The Mentalist and The Good Wife actually get the 'toss-up btw cancel/renew" rating in this assessment. One other site I frequently visit to get a gauge of how shows are doing is this one: www.spoilertv.co.uk/images/cache/misc/Cancellation%20Index%202013%20-%202014/cancel201314_FULL.pngAnd as you can see H50 is currently listed in the green section which means in their view "safe for now". So I apologize for my lengthy response to this thread, but I felt I needed to explain and back up my thoughts with facts, figures and other opinions. The 2013-14 season is not even 2 weeks old yet and many things can happen, so I am content to remain optimistic, hope for the best and enjoy S4 of H50 and if we are lucky, maybe we'll even get a S5!! One more bit I just felt I had to add from Canada's Leaderpost.com: Five-0 Conquers Friday Death Slot Surf’s up. Hawaii Five-0 broke ground on a new night to open its fourth season last week, and one question has been answered: More viewers than expected followed Alex O’Loughlin’s Steve McGarrett and Scott Caan’s Danno Williams to Five-0’s new home on Fridays.
According to a number of U.S.-based tracking sites, nearly 10 million Five-0 watchers tuned in to see last week’s season opener, Aloha Ke Kahi I Ke Kahi, which loosely translates as, “We Need Each Other.”
Global TV’s numbers close to home were harder to discern, but one thing is clear: Based on the early evidence of last week’s opening hour, Hawaii Five-0 will survive its potentially deadly move to TV’s so-called “Friday night death slot,” where good shows go to die — and many have, in recent seasons.
That 10-million-viewer figure is just a number but, interestingly, it marks an 18-per-cent jump over last fall’s opener. The U.S. numbers show that what Five-0 lost in younger viewers, it more than made up for in older viewers who are more inclined to stay home on a Friday night. At this rate, the new, rebooted Five-0 will live to see a fifth season.
Friday’s episode, A’ ale Ma’a Wau, loosely translated to mean “Fish Out of Water,” features a guest appearance by Tim Daly as a Texas Ranger who journeys to the islands to find his missing daughter. Meanwhile, with a murder investigation ongoing, hard-luck, increasingly trouble-prone Kono (Grace Park) and Adam (Ian Anthony Dale) try to stay alive, after their hiding location is revealed and dark forces close in.
Hawaii Five-0 has become known for high-profile guest stars in recent seasons: last year Rick Springfield, Sean Diddy Combs, Robert Loggia, and Nick Lachey appeared in various capacities. The year before the guest list included Jimmy Buffett, James Caan, Dennis Miller, Patty Duke and Ed Asner, among others.
The coming season will feature turns by Rebecca DeMornay, Carol Burnett and Lost alumni Jorge Garcia and, last week, Henry Ian Cusick starred.
As the new Five-0 has become more established and confident — it’s no longer fair to consider it a reboot so much as a self-contained show in its own right — the guest list has expanded behind the camera as well: Friday’s episode is directed by feature filmmaker Joe Dante, director of the first, original Gremlins and the cult films Innerspace, Explorers — co-starring a 13-year-old Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix — and 1981’s The Howling.
Hawaii Five-0 is unlikely to ever challenge Mad Men, Homeland or even The Good Wife — from the same network — for the Emmy, but it has done what it set out to do: Provide lighthearted, escapist winter fare with bright, sunny tropical locations, a swell opening title sequence and theme song, and attractive lead actors and actresses busting assorted low-lifes, pond dwellers and bottom-feeders in one of the world’s last, great remaining natural paradises. Be there. Aloha. (Global, CBS, 9 ET/PT, 10 MT)

This is from tvbythenumbers after 4.02 aired:
"Hawaii Five-0 was adjusted up a tick last week in the finals; this week’s fast nationals were the same as last week’s. I think at least two out of The Good Wife, The Mentalist, and Hawaii Five-0 get canceled, with Hawaii Five-0 having the best shot at survival so far; I want to see a few more weeks of settling (especially against normal competition) before I declare Hawaii Five-0 the winner, though."
