I don't understand why they brought in Billy, set up a sort of jealous triangle plot, and then kill him off. They could have kept Billy around a bit longer. Turn him into a bad guy taking advantage of Cath or something but basically he was there and then gone. What will Cath do now? Probably work for Steve which I am not crazy about at all. This episode focused too much on Cath and I am a Steve/Cath fan. I really think they should have left her in the Navy. Don't like where this is going.
Glad to see Kono again but I suspect she calls on 5-o to help her find Adam.
Joe is back to the don't want to tell Steve anything mode. For goodness sakes, let's get this out in the open Joe - tell Steve everything you know and do it NOW!
Not surprised Doris is active again.
How did Joe know where those numbers were located and who to talk to and what does that all mean? Any LOST fans out there - Thought about that as soon as Joe "John" looked at the numbers. It would have been funny for them to have been the same numbers.
Maybe if I watch it again I will like it better.

I thought it was a pretty good episode, but I'm shocked that they offed Billy so fast. It's almost like the writers decided to bail on their original idea for him. At some point we need some new information about the champ box/ Wo Fat, Mom etc. They have stretched this out so long that it will be hard to write a satisfying conclusion. I suspect the batteries in the tape recorder would be dead by now?
Who killed the hit man? I didn't catch this in my first watch and haven't re-watched yet.

I'm kinda thinking the only reason they brought Billy in was as a means of getting Cath out of the Navy ... not that I know why they wanted to do that. I really thought that they could have kept her in the military and made her a liaison with 5-0 so she could officially fool with those satellites for the benefit of 5-0. Now she's in limbo ... will she continue to operate the agency Billy started or be absorbed into 5-0 as an "unofficial" member or even go back to the Navy? Maybe having her join 5-0 was PL's plan all along as she did pretty quickly put on that Kevlar and take the place that would have been Danny's if Scott had actually been a part of the episode. I know Scott WAS in the episode but there was seriously only one scene with him and the rest of the team. Then there was a scene of him and Joe. And we got isolated shots of him at the funeral and at the tavern afterwards ... but if you actually looked at the crowd scene, it was obvious that those were filmed separately because he wasn't in the broader scenes. It's similar to what they did with Danny, Chin and Kono at Freddy's funeral. You saw a shot of them and apparently a shot of Steve looking at them ... but you couldn't see them in the crowd so it was just filmed to be inserted for ohana purposes. Using Scott the way they did was actually a disservice. Tell us Danny was off at a cheerleading competition with Grace rather than have him come home after Billy's killed but then not be a part of the action in any way except for a rough ride in a car with Joe having a pointless conversation. It gave the impression that Steve was (the writers were) giving Danny's role over to Cath rather than Cath was joining them because Danny was out of town. Re: the hit man ... he was shot by either Cath or Billy and ended up bleeding out. I think they found a trace of blood at the scene (outside) that they decided had to be from the hit man. |

Yep, the hit man was shot by Billy. I don't know how I managed to miss that connection.
Each time they have tried to bring a 5th person into 5-O it's turned out very awkward, yet they continue to try. Now Catherine? How do they not see the brilliance of the original formula?

They have been trying to bring a 5th member of 5-0 in since season one. And yes, it does seem they are having Catherine replace Danny in a lot of scenes. I don't mind Catherine being on the show--but it seems most of the episodes this year have been centered on her......where did the core 4 go?

I know Scott hasn't been all that happy being in Hawaii and I have yet to see/hear/read any definitive evidence that Grace Park had a baby. If she did wonderful and congratulations!  Grace was on an ensemble show before H5-0 (Battle Star Galactica) and should have known what the work load would be like--although BSG was a much larger ensemble and her work load would have been less than it has been on H5-0. The smaller the ensemble cast--the more camera time for the actors. Scott knows that filming does not take all year and he can still write and do photography in Hawaii. There is the summer hiatus to do things in LA that he can't do in Hawaii. He has been unhappy since the get go---Wondering how many more episodes we will have bad CGI Danny inserted where needed.  Just don't understand people who have the opportunity to be on a successful TV show and are so unhappy about it--they should have passed when the job was offered to them...  This is just my opinion-----and it's been brewing for a long time now..... |

I wasn't talking about this episode specifically, just about the show in general. It seems like the writers/producer have been trying to bring in new people since about the middle of season one with Jenna. |

I remember an interview with Grace after season 1 where she was really complaining about how hard she works. Yeesh girl. You make a ton of money playing make believe. Enjoy!

Grace also said in an interview that she prefers doing tv shows over movies. So I don't understand why people think she wants to leave. I know she doesn't enjoy doing the procedural dialogue (who would?) and that's all tptb seem to ever give her and Daniel...but I don't see her leaving because of that. I guess we'll see, if the show gets a fifth season...

I always thought the actual issue for Grace was that she and her husband didn't have much time together because she's in Hawaii while he's in Canada. I've never actually heard her say she didn't like doing the show; just that she'd like to have more time with her husband. |
