So, random observations.... Lots of Danno so I'm very happy. Danno is still the overprotective daddy and I love it. Looking good in shorts, but I must admit, I miss the old "tie Danno". Danno has a way with dogs. Lots of great Danno zingers - Operation had me laughing. I love Kameknoa, but he really murdered Tiny Bubbles (and Danno agreed with me). It SNOWS in Hawaii?  ? That is just wrong. Chin. OUCH, his poor head Chin. Nice moves Chin. Shirtless Chin. Talk about a bad breakup. Guess they didn't want to show a bunch of sawed-off fingers.... but they've shown much worse before. And of course, the stupid sad ending had me bawling. They went all the way to Japan? |

That was quite fun, and a good change of pace after the serious drama of last week.
- good to see a bit more of Kono again
- Chin got some nice action, which is a rarity
- I'm glad they didn't show the fingers in the safe. Our imaginations can do much better than any visual, and Steve's expression really said it all
- poor serial killer is having a bad week. First his gory trophies are discovered by a burglar, then a cop shows up, and finally a surprise visit by the GF when said cop is tied up in the basement. What's a psychopath to do?
- I still feel like Grover is a bit of a Danny clone. Doting father of a daughter, bickers with Steve, dresses as Santa at Christmas
- nice side story with the puzzle box. I got all teary at the ending

Enjoyed the episode. Like we are seeing more of Chin this season. Still miss Malia, Leilani is ok.
Enjoyed the Danny banter and zingers. Was missing that
Hard to believe they flew all the way to Japan. But nice ending.

I enjoyed the episode. The story of the puzzle box was nice. I question Danny and Grace flying all the way to Japan considering he is always complaining about living on a cops salary and being broke. That said, it was a nice touch to have them hand the box back to the Mr. Tanaka who lost everything. He will treasure it for the rest of his life.
Lots of Chin action was good. And I like that they have him in a new romance----I do miss Malia, but then they do seem to red shirt the women on this show. Hope they don't do that to Leilani.
Catherine in the blue room with Steve just seemed wrong.
Loved Grover in his Santa suit!
It was nice seeing more Danno for a change--but now when he is on screen, to me his acting seems forced-like he really doesn't want to be there anymore. That's just my vibe from him and just my humble opinion. Not trying to start something here.
But all in all, it was good----

Yes yes yes! While it was a sweet moment, it's a little too sugar-coated and sorry, but reality intrudes. Danno paid for this trip? Did they at least take a couple of weeks to sightsee? It was a bit forced and obvious tear-jerker moment. Why not keep it simple, have it be from an island girl who maybe died? The coming from Japan thing was just a bit over the top to cap off a really great start, with Danno and Monkey on the beach. |

I agree...they could have written a letter and shown them mailing it from the post office and then see the guy in Japan receiving it....I guess it is another way to show how intense and generous Danno is  .... Of course I loved the Danno moments....it seemed like forever since he and McG were going back and forth at each other. The story line was good and oh...poor Chin....he really has been through the ringer over these last few years...it was nice seeing Kono....looking forward to that story moving forward... It's funny but I'm just not liking Catherine as much anymore...I liked her better in the Navy helping out... Do we know which episode will have the core four back together, on the job, like the good ole days? The casting guys really know how to pick actors that play really psycho villians...Rick Petersen, this guy--all super creepy... Good episode overall.... |

It was surprising the guy(Victor Dobbs) breaks into the house and breaks into the safe and then is killed. We find out Serial Killer and finger collector Gary Nathan lived there. Dobbs associate Tim Sapoli helped 5-0 out.
It was a good thing that Chin went to his house and not Catherine. Even though she could have done the same to get away. I thought though they should call the BAU(Criminal Minds) in. Chin makes some nice moves to take him after he is tied in basement. Nathans Gf Emily comes over
too. Chin made some good moves to take down Nathan. Like what Special Agent Rebecca Conway was told about not being the one that shot Nathan dead. Nice that Emily helped.
Fong helping Danny and Grace find the father to the girl in picture was great. But it was funny Danny didn't believe Steve at first when he told about the tsunami then he talked like it was his idea to Fong. But flying all the way to Japan to deliver it to Mr.Mitsue Tanaka was great, and Danno's facial expression as he starts to leave is classic. Santa Grover was nice too. Chin and Leilani on beach was nice also.
