Perhaps the "getting ripped to shards" was for how the commentary was presented and not the content of the commentary. With an ambiguous comment like that, we can't really know for sure. Kinda makes me wonder why you needed to post it at all as it 1) says nothing at all about the episode and 2) shows that you seem to think very little of the others who post here. But it is a good example of how commentary is presented vs. the actual content.
First off the story is unrealistic (as always, all Five-0 reboot stories are unrealistic except for the Pearl Harbor episode) I mean a plane landed on the street of Honolulu, are Honolulu streets really that wide and straight enough for take off? Why did'nt local rader picked it up? Where did the plane come from? And since Oahu has an army and naval base, would not they not shoot it down? And why land it in downtown Honolulu? And the cars left empty on the highway, I mean you heard sirens telling you to go indoors, what do you do? You leave your car and hide indoors, uh IMO you drive home fast. I may be wrong on that one. Anyway I like the chemistry with Jerry, yet I dont see why he needs to stay. But him managing to control the drone was good. And there is no need to show Kono in a beach shower in a bikini. It's like they are trying to make it a porno film when there is no need. Im not looking forward for the storyline between Kono and Adam. They have been boring, and since they are going to get married, that means trouble. Soap opera do not mix well with this show since season 1. I like how Danno and McGarrett has to go to a psychologist about why they don't get along. I rate the episode 4/5 stars.
But you guys liked it and I don't mind. I'm only giving an honest opinion and not meant to spoil your fun. Looking forward for the next episode and keep watching.
I don't disagree with you about the unrealistic nature of some of the story. Drones are very real and are used as weaponry. A company like Amazon wants to be able to use them to deliver packages (not being successful with that idea at the moment due to FAA regulations) but how long will it be before we actually see drones flying over our homes? Still the whole idea of a drone shooting people as a way of clearing the streets so a plane will be able to land in downtown Honolulu to pick up someone who wants to divulge classified information to foreign powers is pretty far-fetched and unrealistic. I couldn't help wondering if all those people abandoned their cars (yeah, wouldn't you be safer driving home than getting out of your cars and running to wherever you ran), how did the street they planned to land on remain free of cars so they could land? Local radar DID pick the plane up ... that's the conversation in which Danny said the airport was closed and Kono said the plane was headed for the middle of Honolulu. But, you're right ... two guys in a Camaro and a conspiracy theorist with a hijacked drone took it on rather than planes from one of the bases. At the time, I didn't really think about that because I was just enjoying the action. But if they were going for realistic, some military jets might have taken it out before it got to the middle of Honolulu.
I'm not really so sure that Kono at the beach in a bikini after surfing really bothered me that much. It's Hawaii. She likes to surf in her downtime so I'd expect to see her in a bikini. And I actually like Adam and Kono but I'm wondering what he's doing for a living now since he went on the run. What did he come back to after he was questioned about his brother's shooting? I haven't actually heard anything that said they were going to get married but I guess I wouldn't be real surprised. The only thing that would surprise me about that is if they repeated the Chin-Malia storyline ... get married ... sure indication the spouse is about to be killed. It was done once. It's too obvious for them to do it again. Or is it?
I'm onboard with your thoughts about Jerry. I like him and don't mind him being around ... occasionally ... but not every case can be a conspiracy so what will they do with him when all they have is a straight-forward robbery spree.
So having said all that ... I really enjoyed the show! I don't need it to realistic. To me, I can suspend belief for an hour because I watch for the characters. And although I don't think they needed to add Lou to 5-0 (I think he'd have been more effective for storyline purposes as the sometimes antagonistic SWAP commander), I think he worked out okay as part of the group. Please don't think you're spoiling our fun if you state your honest opinion; seriously the only thing that would spoil my fun is if your opinion was stated in a way that disrespects someone else's opinion. I'll admit that I'm curious about your statement that only one show in four years has been realistic. I'd never claim that I thought every episode has been realistic ... some have been amazingly far fetched! But, personally, I think I'd put the number a bit higher than one. We can agree to disagree on that point. What we apparently can agree upon is that realistic or not ... whether we like that or not ... we both still seem to be watching as we start Season 5.
