Well it's pilot filming time in NYC.... Just got back from dinner tonight and had to navigate my way through all the tracker trailers and production equipment that was set up on 3rd Ave from 18th street to 22nd street on both sides of the street for the filming of the new CBS pilot called "Elementary". Don't know much about it except that it stars Lucy Lui and Johnny Lee Miller. Here's the 411 from Starpulse: Johnny Lee Miller will star as Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Dr. Joan Watson in a modern TV update of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous detective stories.
We spotted the co-stars filming the CBS pilot "Elementary" in New York City today.
Liu plays a former surgeon while Lee struggles with sobriety after leaving rehab. The drama will be loosely based on the hit British show Sherlock. Here are some pics from the filming this week on the streets of NYC.... For anyone's who's interested, here's a pic of the signs they post indicating a filming location.

This is a series pilot? What about Southland? She just started on that, and it just started its season.

I'll stick with Jeremy Brett--he's my favorite Holmes.
I see those signs near work a lot--Law & Order, White Collar, Blue Bloods, and lots I can't remember. A few years ago, the outside of our building was used in Two Weeks' Notice. Luckily I haven't had the trouble nycgal has had--that's a pain--I mostly see trailers and equipment. (However, I did see a take of a White Collar scene last summer because a bunch of us ordinary commuters had to stay out of the way while they filmed.)

Well, on my way back from the grocery store and came across another TV pilot getting ready to shoot on the streets of NYC. This one is called "Baby Big Shot", also from CBS. Here are the actors's trailers set up along 38th street Here's the low down on this one from Dealine.com It will be really interesting to seeing which if any of these pilots actually get the green light for the fall 2012 TV season. Law & Order: SVU alumna Stephanie March has been cast in the CBS/Sony TV pilot Baby Big Shot, a legal drama centered on Martina (Janet Montgomery), a working-class woman who uses her street smarts to compete with her more polished colleagues at a top New York law firm. March, repped by Gersh and One Entertainment, will play Natalie Minka, a high-ranking associate at Stark & Cohen, she thinks that townies like Martina devalue the firm’s brand, and she never misses an opportunity to needle Martina about her working-class background
Kyle MacLachlan is set to co-star in CBS’ drama pilot Baby Big Shot. The project, from writer Dana Calvo, showrunner Kevin Falls, Sony TV and Jamie Tarses’ Fanfare, is a legal drama centered on Martina (Janet Montgomery), a working-class woman who uses her street smarts to compete with her more polished colleagues at top New York law firm Stark & Cohen. MacLachlan, who was holding two pilot offers, will play the head man at Stark & Cohen, a rhino who booms confidence and big-picture philosophy. He sees something in Martina and gives her a promotion. MacLachlan, repped by Gersh and Management 360, is back on the final season of Desperate Housewives, reprising his role as villainous Orson Hodge.

I would've loved to watch a take of White Collar. I really enjoy Matt Bomer on that show!

Just a couple of people in dark suits, running after somebody with some, I assume, stolen item in a cardboard tube. And I thought, I should watch it so I know what just happened.
