Since this is upfront week, I thought I would start a thread with a listing of all the show that will be airing during the 2012-2013 season, for any one who is interested to see if their favorite show will be returning or not and if so where on the schedule they will be . Fox and NBC have already announced. ABC will announce tomorrow. Tuesday, CBS announces on Wednesday and The CW announces on Thursday. So I will update as necessary.

So now with all the upfronts done. It appears that nothing major is changing for H50 on Monday's night. They will still be going head to head with Castle on ABC, with NBC putting another new show up against these two.
And in addition, it appears that we got lucky, in that it appears that Chicago Fire will have a decent chance of staying on the air for a while, though they are on NBC, since they are competing with a new show on ABC and CBS is putting one of it's longer in the tooth shows, CSI, up against it, instead of one their power houses. (NCIS's, Person of Interest, Criminal Minds or H50) So there is hope that a certain someone won't be available to reprise her role anytime soon. ;D
And, for all the Terry O'Quinn fans it appears that his show is going to be on Sunday nights on ABC competing against football. So he maybe available sooner rather than later, since Sunday nights aren't exactly known for pulling in big ratings. But on the other hands, Sunday nights shows are given more leeway to prove themselves, as they are already starting at disadvantage over that of a weeknight show.

Thanks for the info Diana and ncygal. Can I just ask something non H50 related. The moves for Two & Half Men and The Mentalist , are they good or bad?

For Two and a half men, it is great. As it will be sitting between the Big Bang Theory which is CBS's top rated Comedy right now with an average of 14.67 million viewers per episode and Person of Interest which is currently like CBS's third top rated drama behind the two NCIS"s with an average of 13.22 million viewers per episode.
For The Mentalist, no this is not a good move. Usually being moved to a Sunday Night moves you one step closer to being cancelled for two reasons. One because Sunday typically pull lower rating in general over that of a week night. Secondarily, CBS has football on Sunday Afternoon's in the fall, and typically the games run over, which then pushes back the start times of the evening shows, so most people never know exactly when the show is coming on and good luck trying to DVR the show, as you will wind up half of previous show being recorded and the last half of the show you wanted being cut off, as most DVR's don't have the ability to adjust for overruns of the football games.

Yes, I have to agree with you Diana that the Sunday night @ 10:00 slot is a tough place to be. It seems like the Sunday prime time on CBS starts delayed more often than not.....if it's not football, then it's golf or tennis or basketball that runs late. I am just very glad H50 wasn't moved to Sundays....that could have been the kiss of death.

Thanks for the info guys. Its always interesting for me to see how US TV works .
It must be a pain if you are never sure when you favourite show will start, I expect Mentalist fans will not be happy.

I'm glad to see that H50 hasn't moved. While it's still up against Castle, I'm not convinced by the blurb on the new NBC show. Now I just have to exercise patience for the next 4 months til the new season starts Fiona

A bit more insight into the world of TV programming (specifically, CBS) as reported by The New York Times:
CBS, Already Strong on Comedy, Will Add Three Dramas in Fall By BRIAN STELTER May 16, 2012
CBS, the most-watched American television network, will add three dramas and one comedy to its schedule in the fall, it said Wednesday morning in advance of its annual presentation to advertisers in New York.
For the second year in a row, CBS is moving one of its biggest Monday night comedies to Thursday night, in an effort to establish a beachhead there. Last year it was “The Big Bang Theory;” this coming year it is “Two and a Half Men,” the show that was revived nine months ago with the casting of Ashton Kutcher to replace Charlie Sheen. “Two and a Half Men” will follow “Big Bang” at 8:30 on Thursdays, one of the most lucrative nights of the week for a television network.
Contrary to some predictions, CBS is not adding a second hour of comedy on Thursday nights. Instead, it is using the returning drama “Person of Interest” to lead into a new drama, “Elementary,” which was described by Nina Tassler, the president of CBS Entertainment, as “a new take on Sherlock Holmes.”
Another new drama, “Vegas,” will be shown on Tuesdays at 10 p.m., and a third, “Made in Jersey,” will air Fridays at 9 p.m.
Replacing “Two and a Half Men” at 9 p.m. on Mondays will be “2 Broke Girls,” a sitcom that had its premiere last year in the 8:30 time slot. Taking over the 8:30 time slot is the network’s only new sitcom in the fall, “Partners.” Monday’s two-hour comedy block also includes “How I Met Your Mother” at 8 and “Mike & Molly” at 9:30.
At a press event Thursday morning, Kelly Kahl, the head of scheduling for CBS, said that in moving “Two and a Half Men” to Thursdays, “we tried to create a super comedy block.”
Of course, “Men” is entering its 10th season; most sitcoms do not last nearly that long. By moving the much younger “2 Broke Girls” to Mondays at 9 p.m., CBS is making it the anchor of Monday night.
Several other new series ordered by CBS — including “Golden Boy” and “Friend Me” — will not premiere until the winter.
A number of established CBS shows are staying in their time slots next season. They include “NCIS” and “NCIS: Los Angeles,” which will remain on Tuesdays at 8 and 9 p.m.; “Survivor,” which will remain on Wednesdays at 8 p.m.; and “The Good Wife,” which will remain on Sundays at 9 p.m. “We feel very good about ‘Good Wife’ there,” Mr. Kahl said.
The schedule features only two renditions of “CSI,” because “CSI: Miami” was cancelled by the network last week. Calling it a “jump ball,” Ms. Tassler said “CSI: New York,” on Fridays, was kept instead of “CSI: Miami,” on Sundays, because it was performing more strongly on its night. “CSI: New York” will move to the 8 p.m. time slot on Fridays in the fall.

Another take on why The Mentalist was moved to Sundays @10:00 from TVByTheNumbers:
What Does 'The Mentalist' At 10pm Sunday & 'The Good Wife' At 9pm Tell Us? Written By Bill Gorman May 16th, 2012
The typical amount of carping from fans of The Mentalist about its announced move away from the Thursday 10pm timeslot, but if you figure that CBS's two best timeslots to launch a new drama are 10pm Tuesday and 10pm Thursday, moving The Mentalist makes complete sense.
But why move it to Sunday at 10pm instead of Sunday at 9pm (an hour with more people viewing TV, and where the best rated shows of the night typically slot)?
Two possibilities:
1. CBS puts an absolute premium on making as few changes to their schedule as possible. Likely a factor, but they did make other moves (CSI:NY to 8pm) that weren't essential.
2. CBS doesn't own The Mentalist (Warner Brothers does), and they do own The Good Wife, and still haven't been able to sell it into syndication, and they're going to do everything in their power to give it the best ratings they possibly can as they try and get it sold, current ratings consequences be damned.
I think it was probably 10% reason 1 and 90% reason 2.

The new NBC drama slated for Monday's @10 is called "Revolution". Here's more detail from I09.com:
The first look at J.J. Abrams’ new post-apocalyptic TV show Revolution Good news, J.J. Abrams fans — you're getting a new (and hopefully better received) series from Abrams on NBC! It's called Revolution, and it focuses on a band of survivors making their way in a new world after all of the world's energy mysteriously disappears. And here's your very first shot of the cast standing ominously on a giant staircase. Note the bows and arrows! That trend isn't going anywhere, anytime soon!
According to TV Line, NBC has picked up this new drama series, which was also crafted by Supernatural's Eric Kripke and directed by Jon Favreau. The show stars the Mustache Dad from Twilight (actor Billy Burke) and Giancarlo Esposito from Once Upon A Time and Breaking Bad (which doesn't really bode well for Esposito's character on Once).
Can anyone guess what the secret behind the massive power outage is? Because you know there's going to be a mystery wrapped in a mystery tied with a bow with Abrams.
