My sympathies to both Dacascosfan and Runner on your losses I know what it's like to loose a pet and it's absolutely heartbreaking. You'll both be in my thoughts over the coming days. Fiona

@meli ---- Everyone is asking if we'll get a new pet soon. But we just can't even think about that yet. We would feel like we were trying to 'replace' Sammy (for lack of a better term). Maybe some day.
@dfan --- I hope you are doing better today.

Hope your doing better Runner? Here's a pic of Cochise got this is a middle of him yawning lol. But he was so much like WF in a way silent but mysterious always plotting lol my little warrior.

It's not replacing a pet that's difficult it's the memories that come flooding back....
Hope that you are doing better....

I have taken my good old sweet time getting caught up from the month that I wasn't able to be here. I'm so sorry to all that have lost a pet recently. I know this is a very difficult time. When I lost my little long-haired Chihuahua a long time ago, I lost my best friend. So, I totally understand. I think one of the reasons why losing a pet can be so hard, aside from the simple fact that you love them with all of your heart, is because we know they loved us unconditionally and because all of the memories are good ones. Our pets are the ones that help us through difficult times. I know I can't be there to sit with you all, or cry with you, or put an arm around your shoulder, but I'm there in spirit. I love you all, and I know you are very strong women. I don't know if this would help through the journey of healing and maybe you've already done it. I don't know. I wonder if you were able to do an In Memory project of your pet, if that would help you. Like maybe an angel statue in your garden, or make a stepping stone where you could put pretty colored rocks around its name, or maybe a house plant that you have to water and watch grow, or make a scrapbook and journal about the memories... you know, something that can in time help you just remember the wonderful times and not think about the loss. I also know there's a time for everythin. I hope you all know my motives here are to help not make it harder. I'm afraid when I don't know what to say, I say too much.

dfan, Cochise is so cute!
Hubby came down stairs this morning, and stopped himself just before calling out for Sammy.

I can't believe that I am posting more prayers and support for DacascosFan. She lost her puppy Cochise in early June and today her other dog, a Yorkie mix, passed away too.....I'm so sorry DF that once again you must face the tragic loss of your beloved dog. I hope he's with Cochise right now. I'm so sorry for your loss dear friend. Thoughts and prayers to you and your Mom. Take care....
