Still stinky. Do you think that the Brian Williams program is affecting it at all?

Oh yeah, previous to this, the Playboy Club was getting maybe 1 million viewers and a 0.6 demographc, and a 0.8 share.

So I guess the Brian Williams show is snagging up some of those viewers.

That does sting.....darksea is that the first time that H5-0 has slipped under the 10million mark.......... I just find it interesting that H5-0 still gets higher percentage in the 18-49 demo......

Diana you have made some great points....I am actually understanding it more so thank you......I find it surprising about the lack of guest stars that Castle has had in the last four seasons....I truly hope that we get our old show back......

Hawaii Five O has slipped under the 10 million mark a few times before, mostly during the second half of last season, and during one of the world series games this season. But officially, they didn't, because the ratings were adjusted that afternoon above the 10 mil mark.

Here are the updated ratings numbers for when 7 day DVR viewership is added in.
Hawaii Five-0 went from 10,318 million viewers to 13,963 for a gain of 3,645 million viewers or a gain of 35.3%%. CASTLE went from 11,072 million viewers to 14,304 million viewers for a gain of 3,232 million viewers or a gain of 29.2%
As for the 18-49 demo Hawaii Five-0 went from a 3.1 to a 4.3 for a gain of 1.20 or 38.7%. CASTLE went from a 2.4 to a 3.5 for a gain of 1.10 or 45.8%
This means that more people are watching Castle live which means they are also watching the commercials versus H50 who are watching it on DVR and fast forwarding through the commercials. It also means that when you add the live viewers plus the DVR viewers for this week more total people watched Castle than H50. Now in H50 in favor a higher percentage of their 14 million total viewers was 18-49 old. So out of three success criteria H50 only won one of the three. Now this doesn't mean that cancellation is imminent , it just means from CBS's perspective that it is doing good, but not the absolutely best it could potentially be doing when compared to it's competition in the same time slot.

thanks for the explanation Diana - I wonder if the 10 pm Monday night time slot is just a tough slot because of MN football?

It's actually a very compeditive hour, and the ratings are rather impressive, if you compare the numbers against other shows in any other hour.
