On TVbythe numbers they have h50 listed as "likely to be renewed". I don't know how knowledgable that site is - but they seem to have a grasp of all the ratings stuff. I also did not see any remarks about CBS and H50 in the comments for the Monday night ratings - where was the comment? I wonder if the broadcast of the show in all these foreign countries affects the decisions made by CBS? It was in the comments on the preliminary numbers. "According to my CBS friend, CBS is not happy, but don’t expect a Press Release about it. A strong business looks for better numbers each year, even the same numbers are bad news for them. When the numbers are weaker, that is the worst.Hawaii has made that slot weaker. They know it." So do you think that CBS will take into consideration that the drop is because of the "Lori" addition? Especially with all the complaints about her & MAYBE.....talk to TPTB??

Looks like good news to me but I am no expert - I think anything that secures H50's future is good news - Lori or no Lori (preferrably no Lori) I want the show to be renewed and have a long run. If nothing else - Alex O has bought a house there - LOL don't want him to have to sell in this market! On a serious note - AOL has had two shows go bottom up on him - so I'd like to see him have success and I am pretty sure y'all would agree! He really seems like a decent guy.

It's not PR spin, that is the average numbers, followed by the watched live.
But nobody is listening to me, so what do I know?

I don't think the CBS would want their show H50 to be in #15.. nobody wanna see that, it would be better if the show be in the top 5 or 10 not 15. I hope they will make a change as in take out Lori or just put her in the back burner. I watch the show but FF lori scene when it come to her. ;p

I always thought that H5O would do better (in ratings) in an earlier time slot. It comes on at 10 pm est here. I always record it because I work early in the morning.

They actually can't have an earlier time slot. Because of their viewer violence rating, if they went earlier, they would have to cut down on the amount of violence and other adult items shown in each show.

Darksea - I have only been coming here for a short time - yet I have learned a lot from you and others here about ratings and how the show is made - just want you to know we do listen and it is appreciated.
I did read that the first H50 was not a big hit its first two years - took awhile to attract viewers - so here is hoping the reboot H50 will have the same history!

Interesting bit of info here thanx darksea......Here in Oz anything on at 8:30 and onwards shows the type of rating each show is if it's very graphic in details it goes on at 9:30....It's really interesting learning how television networks work differently with their ratings in different parts of the world.....

It means that more people are watching Castle live which means they are also watching the commercials versus H50 who are watching it on DVR and fast forwarding through the commercials. It also means that when you add the live viewers plus the DVR viewers for this week more total people watched Castle than H50. Now in H50 in favor a higher percentage of their 14 million total viewers was 18-49 old. So out of three success criteria H50 only won one of the three. Now this doesn't mean that cancellation is imminent , it just means from CBS's perspective that it is doing good, but not the absolutely best it could potentially be doing. Also, just for the record these are the DVR numbers for episode 207 not 209 as it takes about 3 weeks after the episode airs before the DVR numbers are calculated. (Darksea -- since you are more of an expert in this area than I am, feel free to correct me if I have misspoken. )

A logical conclusion that can be drawn from this is that CBS will be thinking, "We need to get more people to watch this show live than just DVR it. What can we do to achieve that?" They don't want to dissuade people from DVR-ing it, but to please the sponsors the watching-live figures need to be higher, which may or may not beat Castle, but that will be the goal.
And what they can do to improve those figures is, get the quality back, and more consistently. We know what we think would achieve that. CBS and the other PTB may not agree with us, but they better do something.
