The Castle fans did not leave the show, mandyblue, they didn't seem to realize it was on. The Christmas lead-ins before it, led most people to think that it was an all night thing. But note one thing: Rock Center's audience went up. They had Jon Stewart, who is highly popular in the demo graphic.
And honestly, good luck getting rid of Lori with those ratings. *sigh*

Is there still a chance that they'll get rid of her, even with those ratings, darksea?

It really does make the argument that she is hurting the show difficult. They could still get rid of her due to the petition, but it is going to need a lot more activity.

More activity for the petition? Let's see if I can do something about that.

Kind of sad/ironic really.......so many people (including TV critics and bloggers) have called out that the LW character sucks and has no purpose but, in general, the ratings do not reflect the fans' dissatisfaction so why would TPTB think they should (or need to) make any changes??
Unfortunately, as long as people keep tuning in, things will remain as they are, IMHO.
To quote AOL from the GQ interview:
"TV scares the shit out of me. With all due respect, it’s a business about numbers and how many people are watching."

I think a lot of people were thinking "Bori's 12th episode i scoming up" so she could be killed off. Maybe people are tuning in mostly hoping to see her get gone. I really hope TPTB don't think for a second that Bori is boosting the ratings - for me it's that they're slowly bringing back some of the greatness from season 1, and the whole Shelburn - Wo Fat- Champ box is gearing up again. The whole half of this season has been stand-alone episodes, without that undercurrent of "what's in the Champ box" that made sesason 1 so discussable . And for God's sake, I pray they don't give Bori a juicy storyline of her own, they way they do with other characters (Max is due for one, he's a regular in case anyone has forgotten). Then she'll be in the way even more.
