I don't know if any of you watch The Glades, but they seem to have been able to do something that H50 couldn't. This is a crime procedural that is set in a fictious Florida town. There is a new character this season named Jennifer. She works for the DA and was assigned to observe Jim (the lead) and report back about his unorthodox investigation methods. Sound familiar? She is beautiful (played by Taylor Cole, the villian from 2x23 who worked with toothpick on H50) and tough and believable as a "Gov't watchdog". As I watched last night, all I could think about is 'This should have been how Lori was written". There was a scene where she stops Jim from continuing an investigation and actually confronts him that he is wrong in his methods. Eventually they gain respect for each other, but she doesn't give in to his methods and continues to rein him in. There is an attraction and though he is involved with someone else, there is a hint of some sexual tension. As I watched all I could think of is that this is what we all expected Lori to be, yet THANKFULLY it never happened and now she is gone ;D.
I just thought I 'd put it out there and to see if anyone else watched and felt the same.
If you haven't or don't watch The Glades, it is on demand on A&E and is a good summer fill in. The lead is Australian, but he is playing a Chicago cop transfered to Florida. There is a crime of the week, a background arc, comedy and some quirky supporting characters. Again... sound familiar?
