Her daughter just tweeted that her mom was going to be guest starring - I tweeted back and asked if she could give any hint as to what her role was - maybe we'll get a clue!  |

Danny's mom seems more likely. The flashback of Danny in NJ is coming up in episode 3x5 according to Peter.

I received a reply from Lee Meriweather's daughter! I asked her if she had any clue as to who her mom would be portraying...

No idea who she's going to play, but would so love to see them incorporate Danny's mom into the show - Lee Meriwether would be perfect. Let's hope they really do go this route - it would be awesome to meet more of Danny's family. Hopefully we'll learn more soon |

After doing a bit of research, I've discovered that Lee Meriwether is actually 77, so age-wise she is a tad on the "old" side to be Danny's mom. However, if you really do the math, she is technically old enough to be his grandmother - something to consider...... Keep in mind that on Magnum, PI they had Thomas Magnum's grandfather (played by the late great Howard Duff) make an appearance and we know Magnum is one of PL's favorite shows.....just sayin'  |

eh, considering sean Connery and Harrison Ford are practically the same age and they played father and son, there's a possibility of getting away with her being danno's mom

Well, if we go with past history of Patty Duke, Peter Fonda, Dennis Miller and Rick Springfield, I would expect much of one. Maybe she will play Tony Archer's older sister, the ages would just about work between James Caan and her. Or if you stretch it a bit she could play his wife. |

That actress you might be referring to is Carol Lawrence. She played a photographer with whom Steve had a relationship eight years earlier, Season 5's "Thanks for the Honeymoon." That episode also guest-starred Patty Duke. Marj Dusay from Guiding Light was also in two episodes of the original series. In the first "The Singapore File" she played a witness to a crime named Nicole Wiley, who was hiding out in Singapore. The gangster who committed the crime sent a hit man to kill her, she escapes, and calls Steve, asking him to come and pick her up and take her back to Hawaii. It's a favorite episode among fans of the original, and some people think Steve and Nicole would have made a great couple, but there was no romance between them. They hide out from the hit man, and Steve loses his wallet in a struggle, so they have to travel to the Philippines in the lower level of a freighter, with the two making a lot of playful jabs at one another. They hitchhike on a produce truck in the Philippines, and hide out at a Buddhist temple, getting closer along the way, but Steve puts his work in front of anything romantic. They nearly get into a tryst on the boat, but Steve stops it. |
