Didn't DS tell us that Kurtzman and Orci were in on the beginning to get it rolling, and then backed off to let Petey run with it? Long time ago, but I'm pretty sure that's what she said.

That was so long ago, I can't say for sure. But that does sound right. I'm sure they've both been busy with their own projects as well. Star Trek 2!

For whatever it's worth, here's a quote from AOL on the new season: "We're six episodes in (production) and I feel like this is our best season so far. It really feels silky smooth."Sure sounds promising to me. We'll see in 4 days! I sure hope so too.

FYI: For what it is worth, Roberto Orci, attended SOTB last night, so it appears that he still has some type of role with the show, so if PL were to leave it will be interesting to see if Orci would increase his role or if they would bring in someone new. Peter Lenkov and Roberto Orci at SOTB3

Peter stated last night that he will never leave H50. I can't imagine he ever would. It would be interesting to see if Orci has any more involvement this season. He's one odd dude, but he's talented!

For starters, Producers generally have up to 12 projects going simultaneously. Orci and Kurtzman own K/O Paper Products, which is one of the primary distributors of the show. Distributors are around forever, Kurtzman and Orci still have the ability to register their creative opinions that guide the show.
Lenkov is basically the reboot creator. While he can step back and take less of an active role on the show like Bellisario did on NCIS when Harmon punted him out, he will never be completely gone. Will still have creative input. Will still be a major player in the storyline, and guiding the writing and direction of the show. Just to give you an idea, right now, Lenkov has two movies, a comic series, and two shows he oversees. He's also developing at least six other projects that may or may not be picked up.
And yes, Kurtzman and Orci were guiding forces in season 1, they both backed off due to Star Trek, Fringe, and about eight other projects they were personally overseeing, but still had their input into Hawaii Five O.
And not to sound naughty, mean or otherwise, but I think we get that some of you don't like this reboot. Sorry. Can't change it. And in this case, pretty sure that a larger majority don't want to.
