Glad you're OK, Sportsmom! I saw some reports from NY yesterday and the flooding was scary. Hope you get your lights back on quick! Shows that film in NY have been affected badly too - they were forced to cancel filming, which is also going to impact them down the road. So we're not the only fans affected.

For those who are upset that CBS chose not to show a new episode, look at it this way. Come March and April when we are typically in rerun hell, H50 will have a couple of extra new episodes to show when everyone else is in repeat hell. Gives us all something to look forward to.

Sportsmom, I'm so thankful that you took the time to post and let us know how your night went. Glad you and your family and your house are okay.

You would think they would show the episode tonight and then maybe repeat it later this week for those who missed tonight. I can't believe they decided to do that. Seems kind of insensitive. I don't think I ever remember something like this happening except for a national disaster like 9/11. It is amazing to me that those of us who were complaining that we were going to miss our favorite TV show are being labeled as insensitive. Really? Then let's say ABC and NBC are insensitive because they aired their shows. I, for one, grew up in the area of NY where this is all happening. I have family there. Didn't know that CBS would have problems transmitting - that explains their decision somewhat. No one should be blaming Peter - that was a CBS decision. Thought that those of us who were really looking forward to a new episode of H50 could express their disappointment without being accused of not caring about what others are going through. I think it is pretty safe to say that everyone on this board values human life over a TV show. Nothing I've read indicates to me that this is not true. Therefore, I think it is unfair to associate expressing opinions about not seeing a particular episode or CBS's decision with being uncaring and unsympathetic. Those who cast the stones need to accept the origin point of the stone. You would be the one who claimed that what CBS did was 'insensitive'. While most of you seem to think that a message board is just a free-for-all without responsibility, that you can just toss 'opinions' out there because they are just words on a screen without major intent, the fact is, they are public record. They are posted in public, they are indelible in the public memory. So, if during 9/11 you said that you didn't understand what the big deal was because it was just a couple of buildings, do you think you would be labelled as any less insensitive? No. And while *you* may not be aware of how insensitive the messages were sounding, including calling CBS insensitive, then trying to explain your way out of it, honestly, it just compounds it. If you grew up in the area where it happened, then you grew up in a lot of places. It's not exactly a well guarded secret that it is in fact a national disaster, it affected more than New York, it's not just insensitive, it's also a major display of ignorance, since 9/11 as national disaster only "affected" 3 states directly, and this one has had almost 30 states declare disater zones out of 50. It is rather insensitive to sit there and publicly throw out an 'opinion' that anybody is blowing it, or screwing up, or blamed for pre-empting anything, or for not. It's a matter of ability, and literally the first page or so of this thread has quite a few cut downs for CBS 'blowing it'. So, I apologize if you are taking particular butt burn over being considered insensitive, but really, I'm just seeing more and more of it.

It wasn't exactly a picnic here in southwestern Ontario either during Sandy.

I too was disappointed not to see the show Monday night, but very understandable. My only complaint was that CBS could have run a screen scroll announcing that the episode would air the following Monday, to let us fans know when to see it. Sometimes bumped shows are aired in the wee hours of the morning, or on a following night - would have been bummed if I had missed it because I didn't know when it would be aired! Instead I had to call a friend to have her check the CBS website on her computer for me (really should think about moving out of the cave and into the 21st century and purchasing a computer for home!). Information is always a good thing, and I can only imagine that everyone else in the country would have liked to know when to find their beloved H50 again.

That would have been nice...a bunch of my friends watch it together on Monday nights and they were all texting and calling me at 10:30 asking if it was coming on...I didn't get their messages until 11:30...my bad. I going to tell them to "like" Hawaii Five 0 on Facebook. It was posted on that FB page at 6pm EST that the show was preempted.

By mid to late afternoon on Monday--here in Missouri--it had been announced. Yeah-I was disappointed --but there was a disaster unfolding on the east coast of our country. Really think it is time to stop the discussion on this topic. The episode was preempted.....let's move on. Please.

Davilarose you are so right. The Red Cross is asking for donations, even $10. would help according to them. It would bring food, clothes and essentials to all those people. Thanks.

Completely agree, I think it's time to see the end of this topic. There is a check-in and discussion thread on Hurricane Sandy in the Off Topic Lounge. Donate, give concern, talk, check-in.
