Please join together in sending our thoughts and prayers to the families and victims of the Newtown Elementary School shooting, where 26 people, including 20 children lost their lives. The nation and the world are behind these souls, and we are all now in pain and sympathy over the loss of innocence and the loss of lives that had barely even begun. All of us are feeling the pain of this tragedy, and are trying to make sense of it all.
Parents, talk to your kids, give them an extra hug, if you have young children make sure that they know that they are safe and loved. If you have older children, let them know that you love them. Let your parents know that you are grateful for them. This is a time when we need to all come together and let each other know how much we appreciate every day and each other, in memory of those who won't be coming home.
Let's keep this thread clean, let's keep the politics out of it.

Horrible thing to happen any time but especially so close to Christmas. My prayers are with those grieving families.

I want to post something here, but to be honest, my mind is absolutely blank as to what to type. I mean, the shock this community is going through and the pain of those parents is just something that I cannot imagine nor wrap my brain around. How heartbreaking and horrible. Prayers, prayers, prayers.

Not having children, I cannot imagine the shock, grief and horror of those families. My thoughts are with them.

I've started to write something 3 times and then delete it because it all sounds so trivial. My husband sat on the couch and wept trying to tell me that he could not even attempt to put himself in the other parents' shoes. It is so unimagineable. I have only seen him cry once, and we've been together since I was 10. I'm praying for the victim's families and the survivors. I'm also praying that a change will take place in this country after yesterday's horrific events.
