Joy to the World!

I know this kind of goes along with the "Christmas Plans" thread, but I was hoping we could add this. I have been working really hard to dwell on all of my blessings that bring me joy, and I was hoping that you all could help me by sharing yours, also. With the Connecticut shooting, economy, overseas unrest, and our own personal trials, maybe we could bring joy to each other and all the visitors that come to this board.

My Joys:

-My Lord and His sacrificial love and never-ending mercy and forgiveness
-My very loyal and dedicated hubby
-My adorable children, who I count as my little miracles (I hope it's okay for me to call them adorable. I might be just a tad bit biased... just a tad. )
-My extended family and their love and support
-all of you and this board and, of course, Hawaii 5-0 that brought us all together
-Christmas lights... they are so beautiful. They bring such beauty and contrast when looking out into the darkness.
-my music and piano (completely rejuvenates me)
-movie and cuddle time on the couch with my hubby and kids (doesn't happen often enough but I feel a lot of joy when it does happen)
-game time with my family (I fully enjoy looking across the table and seeing their smiling faces when they just had an awesome move or won the game or knocked their daddy's playing piece off the board.)
-this one's kind of crazy... but I love all things black and white (except zebra stripes)... I feel a burst of energy when I see a black and white floral design...

Go ahead and laugh at me... that's part of the fun!

- My job, which gives me intellectual stimulation, and financial security (even though it sometimes drives me crazy)
- My hobbies (which keep my job from driving me too crazy)
- People who start threads like these, and remind me to think about all the joys in my life. Thank you Scarla.

Family & Friends - The other half who I might moan about but is always there when I need him.

All my pets , the cats, the dog and the horse all give me unconditional love and make me smile.

My horse riding, no matter how bad a day I have had a ride on Buzz brings it all in to persepctive.

This board and the show that got us all together, sometimes its nice to step away from real life in to the world of our H50 team or to just have a chat on the off topic section .

Wow! You all have challenged me. There are areas in my life that I used to feel real joy, but the trials of every day living robbed me of that joy now. Thank you for sharing your joys with me. You have helped me so much.

Biochemgeek, I also should be finding joy in my hubby's job. It's the best job he has ever had. Even though it takes a lot more committment and time away from home, we have benefits and some financial security.

A couple of you listed finding joy in your hobbies, which is also great. My hobbies bring me a lot of relief emotionally, and I should be more than thankful for them. I should be thankful for the joy they bring me, also.

Several of you listed your in-laws. I should have listed them, also. My in-laws have always taken me in and loved me like one of their own daughters.

Cargumentluv, I did enjoy your Disney joy because I realized as I was reading yours that Disney gives me and my entire family joy, also. My toddler loves to watch Disney's Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cartoon every morning. He interacts with it and actually learns. I love hearing his little voice echoing throughout the kitchen, and seeing his little face and eyes light up when he gets the right answer. Disney also provides us with a lot of the movies that we watch together on family night.


I also get joy from watching my toddler son get up off the floor to dance when the H50 theme song starts. As soon as the music stops, he turns to me and frowns because he's convinced that I turned the song off. So adorable!
