I'm actually pretty excited about my summer plans, especially after I had to unexpectedly change them when my niece set an August wedding date. Originally I was planning a three-week road trip in July to drive up to New England (I live in the Atlanta area) and into eastern Canada. I'm still going up to New England (mostly New Hampshire) but will only be taking two weeks so I won't have the chance to visit Canada. Instead, that extra week is going to be spent out in the Northwest U.S. as my niece's wedding is in Portland, OR.
I'm going to fly out to Portland and then after her wedding drive up to Mount Rainier (because no matter what others say, I still think of it as the "alleged" Mount Rainier as it was totally fog shrouded when I visited the area in 2011). I'm also going to drive down to Crater Lake because, as luck would have it, when I was there in 2011, I could only drive half way around it because the drive around the east and north sides of the Lake was blocked by snow ... IN JULY!! And instead of a Lake ... we saw fog. It was like a big bowl of fog. So I'm hoping to actually see the Lake on a sunny August day and maybe a sunrise or sunset while I'm there.
Also planning to see a bit of each coast and even planned my drive home from New England so I can drive across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. I know it's a cheesy reason to do it but the last time I drove it (the only time I drove it), I was taken by surprise when there was suddenly a gift shop out in the middle of the Bay! I didn't stop because I really didn't have much warning that it was there so I planned my route with that in mind. Stupid, I know, but it's kind of unusual to visit a gift shop in the middle of a bridge (that's 20+ miles long) so I decided I had to do it! LOL!
So those are my plans. How about yours?

Katlyn, Your summer plans sound like a lot of fun, and how nice that you will be seeing both coasts. I hope the West coast locals do not disappoint you this time (I'm West coast).
We have yet to finalize our plans, because we still need a firm date on when our son is coming home from Italy.

Cracks me up that 'USA' and 'Hawaii' are listed separately, so many treat Hawaii like it's not part of the USA. hahaha
Anyway, have a fun time on O'ahu and Maui, MandyBlue. We went to O'ahu last October, and are going to Maui in May. We're saving Kauai for next Fall.

Off to Hawaii 8 September. Am stopping overnight in London Saturday night. Staying on O'ahu this time and may try and get to the Big Island but have no definite plans. Going to book trips once over there. Hoping I can see some h50 filming as missed it last time.

Hi everyone I am back from Hawaii and getting over the Jet Lag.
We had a fantastic time the weather was good in the late 80 and hot. Did not want to come home want to go back to Hawaii.
Oahu we stayed at the Shereaton Prinsess Kaiulani in the middle of Waikiki. We went to Pearl Harbor but could not go on the USS Arizona Memorial or visit the muserum as it was closed still big disappointed but we did get to see the Battleship Missouri and had a tour around the ship.
We went on a tour on a Submarine going down to 115ft to the surface of the ocean and fishes. We went to the Polynesian Cultural Center for the day had a great time and saw a show in the evening. Spent tme on the beach went out to dinner a couple of evenings. Went looking arount the town and shopping. Sadly we saw no filming of Hawaii Five 0 anywhere when we were there but we had a great time. We toured the Island and went to Hanaurma Bay, Halona Beach Cove where Here To Eternity was filmed in 1953.
Then we went to Maui I loved it there as well Hour Hotel was on the Beach called Rolal Lahaina Restort really lovely. We were going to see Hsleakala Crater and go up it but the park was close. we toured the Island and chilled on the beach.
