I am thinking of the Friday night viewers that will no longer have CSI:NY to watch, and HF-0 now fills that very well. Although different, they are both crime drama procedurals.
Even though I will no longer be able to watch it live, I am still pleased with the move that gets it away from the comedy shows it was with.

I don't mind it moving to Friday, but all I can say is that it's a good thing DVR was invented -- H50 and Grimm on at the same time!!!

Have to admit that I have never watched Grimm, or any other competing show for that matter.

Just to throw in an industry perspective, the move to Friday nights is still not all that good of an idea and it is going to take fans like us to keep it ahead of the curve, and keep H50 going to future seasons. I know some of you like to take the perspective that I am full of crap despite actually being right, but I still have a tendency of stepping forth and putting my two cents in.
1) DVR is great, but it STILL is not considered the industry standard. DVR numbers, because the recorded item can be repeated, counts LESS towards the ratings that count towards renewal and advertising dollars than the live.
2) Friday night is still the death slot. No matter who you talk to, it's a death slot. Don't listen to me, do your own math. Look at the numbers, and realize that the average ratings for Blue Bloods is less than the average comedy on CBS. CBS didn't even think twice about renewing their Monday night comedies, and didn't have that much issue with renewing H50. But when a show comes in from an outside slot, and drops viewers, it is still registered as a drop. CSI:NY has been 'on the bubble' for 3 straight years. Blue Bloods was even questioned this year for renewal.
3) There are certain time zones established for certain shows. If you are before that certain time slot, you are considered to be in primetime, which is also supposed to be moderated for younger viewers. This means that the earlier timeslot will equal to a slight softening of what we are supposed to see on air. They will have to water down some of the visuals and storylines to be a little bit more friendly to those with sensitivities. CSI:NY found themselves having to do this as compared to Miami and Las Vegas, etc. H50's time slot was after this FCC mandated sensibility timeslot. This is why there are so many challenges to broadcast TV by online sources, and why CBS is in a mass court battle with an online provider.
4) This timeslot has killed a few shows before even with DVR.
It will all come down once again to those who put their eyes where their mouth is. If you truly love the show, want it to come on, you have to put butts in seats, regardless of excuse, timeslot and airdate, and make good on the 'personally I don't have a problem with it' and encourage others to not have a problem with it.
Jump, jive and wail on me at will.

Hey Everyone -- I wanted to jump and join the conversation too, as I know that I haven't been around much either due to unforeseen circumstances in real life.
Anyway, this move of H50 to Friday is bittersweet for me, as I totally agree with Darksea that the move to Friday, does not bode well for the future of the show and that we need to encourage as many people as we can to watch the show live on Friday night, because at the end of the day watching the commercials, which you don't do on the DVR is what counts the most as the commercials are what pays the bills for the show.
On the other hand, having the show on Friday nights is going to work a lot better for me, as I will be able to attend chats and be arround the board more after the show airs, since I won't have to get early the next morning and go to work.
Well, it is great to be back and I look forward to talking to you all.

I haven't been here in a long time, so hello to everybody I knew and to those I don't know. Re: the move to Fridays. I'm not happy about it. I'm never home on Friday nights, and when I am, I'm not usually watching TV. I often have people over to hang out, and we aren't much for watching TV. I likely will be watching online a few days later.

Tonight, there is a Hawaii 5-0 rerun at 8/9 central time. The episode is called Evil Woman. It is about that crazy psychiatrist who sets up McGarrett. People who watch the reruns on Friday will be able to get to know the Core 4 just in time for Season 4. Oh wait, Core 3.
