So 5-0 solves the mistery of the 3 Medici rings, but we still don't know squat about the Champ box. Not a bad episode, if you like the whole Indiana Jones thing. Daddy Danno with the baby.... sigh. But Voice of Doom Danno is insulting. I know his marriage busted and all, but why is he just taking it for granted that Cath is going to cheat on Steve just because she's working with her ex? So any woman working with an ex is going to cheat on her current partner? Alwasys love seeing Jorge in anything. He's just one of those people I have a warm spot for. It'd be great to see him here again, but unlikely. How the hell is Steve going to solve crimes now that he can't ask Cath for favours? ?? Juwt how much does Steve get paid? Does Danno call all kids "monkey"? Steve in a suit. Nice way to end an episode. I agree that Chicago makes everything better, but $1300 for an album? I'm sure I have it in a box somewhere. Ebay, here I come. And herw we go with the love triangle which I just don't give a hoot about.

I don't think it is going to be a love triangle as such. If you noticed, the music changed to a minor key just a s Billy came into the shot. I'm thinking Billy is going to be bad news...a la Nick Taylor, only as a recurring character on the show this season.
It was a good ep......but how come they can solve the mystery of the Medici Rings and after 3 years we still don't know much about the Champ Box???
And if the scrimshaw leaf was in the museum---where is Gabby?? Isn't that the place she works/worked??
Will probably have more to say tomorrow......

I agree that Chicago makes everything better, but $1300 for an album? I'm sure I have it in a box somewhere. Ebay, here I come. I have a cabinet full of old albums and that's one of them. I'm pretty sure it's the Chicago Greatest Hits album. I looked it up on ebay as soon as I saw what was in the box and the only thing I could figure (even though they didn't even suggest this) was that he hadn't been able to pay Max in time for the gift he helped him get so he had to go to a fallback gift and that was the Chicago album. On ebay you can get one for under $10 so I just couldn't imagine that's what was in the box that Max brought in. Even signed ones are going for under $500. Besides, Steve wouldn't have needed Max's assistance to buy something on ebay, would he? Maybe there was something in that box that we'll see again when Steve has managed to pay it off?

I like your thinking on this katlyn520--overnight I was thinking- it surely wouldn't cost that much for a vinyl copy of Chicago's Greatest Hits album. Although I can't figure out what would be in a box that shape that would cost that much that Steve would give Cath as a gift. Hmmmmm. Hopefully, if it is something else that Max is holding hostage until full payment from Steve, we will find out-someday!

I think I figured out why Jerry has been introduced, with Cath out of the Navy Five-o will need him to decipher stuff. I would love to see him as a recurring character. Really enjoyed all the scenes he was in. Finally Steve gave Cath a thoughtful gift. Shows he really does know her. Billy is definitely bad news. It didn't even occur to me that the gift Max got and the gift Steve gave Cath may be two different gifts. And wouldn't Max have told Steve ahead of time how much the gift cost before he purchased it or at least before he showed up expecting payment? Is Cath living with Steve full time now? Or still has her own apartment? I think I remember Alex saying in an interview that Cath was living with Steve but I am not sure. I was much sadder than Cath about her leaving the Navy. Really changes her character for me.

I enjoyed this episode very much. Danny was sweet with the baby. I would love to see him become a father again. I don't really know Jorge Garcia as an actor but he was great in this role. It would be fun to see him step back into that character again. Trouble is coming for Steve and Catherine. I think Billy is going to bring heartache. Let's hope that Steve and Catherine realize what they have together and kick Billy to the curb. Seal or not, Billy is a bad guy. I liked that Kamekona is being brought into more scenes with his Ohana. It would be fun to develop his character a little more. Where is Gabby? I really think she would have been a perfect character for the missing artifact story. All in all, great television last night on H50!

I too was expecting to have Gabby involved, even if only for one scene or a phone consultation. Billy is definitely going to bring trouble.
I generally don't mind all the assumptions we have had to make since day one, but I guess we are supposed to assume that Charlie Fong is at least alive? I was hoping for a follow-up mention of him, as I don't recall one in last week's episode. If he was dead, wouldn't the team have attended the funeral, or made some reference to it - Charlie was a fairly regular part of the show. So I'm assuming that Charlie is alive. Maybe it's being kept quiet because they don't want the Yakuza to know that he survived Michael's attack? Seems like a big assumption for us to be carrying forward. Thoughts?
Nice to see the footage of the lava entering the ocean - something different for filler shots - being a naturalist I'm always glad when they include something to highlight the amazing ecosystems/nature of Hawaii.

Well, I enjoyed most of the episode. I loved seeing Jorge Garcia -- he was sooo good.
Max was good too; but $1300 for a record album?? Liked how he was holding the package hostage until Steve (I'm buying the beers - oophs I forgot my wallet) pays in full.
Steve to Max: "You know I have a gun"!! Loved that line.
The problem of the show for me: It's verging on becoming a soap opera. I don't like Catherine's angst; the Steve/Catherine/Billy triangle; Danny - will he or won't he with Gabby; double dating (up coming episode); making out on the couch. That's not why I watch the show. I watch it for the action, the car chases, the shootouts, and, of course, the bromance. When they stay with that it's a great show, when they get away from it, it becomes just another ho-hum cop series.
Sorry, I just had to get that out of my system. Don't worry, that's the last time I will have any say on the above subject.

I think Catherine will find out that Billy is corrupt and dirty. The real tension will come from she and Steve dealing with Billy's true character. He comes across to me as a manipulative scumbag.
For the most part, I liked this weeks episode. I do find it frustrating that they left Gabby, Chin's potential love interest and poor Charlie hanging for so long. I don't want them to dwell on relationships, but it's odd to introduce characters then completely ignore their existence for so long. I'd think Danno would be a little more optimistic about woman at the moment.

I flipped back and forth between the Cardinals' game and this episode...I thought maybe I missed some super action and the super hero stuff that I love, but friends told me it was not in this one...again. This episode was the crime of the week floating (drowning) in the soap opera suds of the Billy/Cath/McG saga. I'm so hopeful that this isn't the status quo for the season. Just a few good, bad, and uglies... The Good: - Chin/DDK...lookin' so good. Wish he had more screen time. - Chicago Albums @$1,300...send me an e-mail please...I've got a bunch of these and many others in storage cartons. - Jerry/Jorge was so fun to watch. The Bad/Ugly: - Danny's "rabbits in a cage" analogy between men and women working together. Although he was probably setting the stage for the immanent soap opera with Billy/Cath as previous lovers, millions of men and women do work very closely together without running to the restroom stalls for a quickie. - The whole Billy/Cath/McG saga is poised on the track for a train wreck...IMO. Flashback to Rachel/Danny in S1/S2: Rachel started out as such a great character...bantering with her Ex, Danny. It was part of the Magic S1. Then Rachel became stupid...slept with her Ex, oops pregnant, oops who is the father. Catherine and Steve were part of the Magic S1, too...what in the hell happened? Always looking forward to next week... Blondie-lana Go Cards! Hey, Blondie-Lana, you're right; Chin is lookin' mighty good, as always. New hair cut? Something is different about him, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Hey!... I think I put one of those Chicago albums in a Goodwill box over the summer! Darn! Okay, seriously, how many viewers are now looking for their old Chicago album right now? Jerry was fun to watch, even though I still didn't like his shirt, and actually reminds me of Danny in several ways. His 'no phone' thing reminded me of when we first met Max. Totally agree regarding Danny's rabbit analogy. Seriously? Some of us are capable of working with our colleagues of the opposite gender without being effected. And even if some are effected, it's called self-control. Although I'm sure he's just speaking from personal experience - possibly regarding Rachel - someone slap Danny for me, 'cause that was just bad. I will throw my hat in with the others who are either thinking or hoping that Billy will be bad. The whole King Kamehameha statue storyline, .... zzzzzz. The perps don't have time to test the key on-side so they take 4x longer to steal the statue to test the key elsewhere? Uh, yeah, even thought this is tv, my imagination just can't go that far. There were good parts to this episode, but overall it is very far from my favorite and I found myself not even following the crime-of-the-week very much. But I'm doing my best to stay optimistic and looking forward to next week's episode.
