After guest starring in two episodes, he'll be a full-time cast member in the newly announced fifth season of the drama.

Jorge Garcia on "Hawaii Five-0"
Jorge Garcia is going back to the island.
The Lost alum has been promoted to series regular for Hawaii Five-0's newly announced fifth season of the CBS remake, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Garcia has guest starred twice on the island-set procedural, playing Jerry Ortega, a conspiracy theorist and former high school classmate of his former Lost co-star Daniel Dae Kim's Detective Lt. Chin Ho Kelly.
"Jorge very quickly made Jerry an unlikely and valuable part of the Five-0 Ohana," exec producer Peter Lenkov tells THR. "We have many opportunities planned to put Jerry's unusual and infectious desire to put the bad guys to good use."
The move brings Garcia back to Hawaii, where ABC's Lost filmed for six seasons. In Hawaii Five-0's four-season run, the series has staged several Lost reunions, featuring guest turns from Henry Ian Cusick, Tania Raymonde, Cynthia Watros, Terry O'Quinn and Sam Anderson.

That's funny because I was just saying the other day after watching an extended preview for this weeks episode that he would make a good 'part of the team'.

How many more regular cast members are they going to add? Seems a bit much but at least I like Jorge.

I like Jorge/Jerry very much, but 7 regulars was enough. Actually, for me 7 regulars was 2 too many.

The problem with too many regulars is a lot of storylines don't get answered. At least the core 4 doesn't have to work as much - I am sure Grace and Scott are happy about that but I would like to see more of Daniel/Chin. And Cath seems to be pushed to the side lately. But, the bottom line is I still like watching the show.

Part of me is concerned that they are adding all these cast members...I really hope that Scott Caan is not leaving. I feel like the set up is there...Grover and Jorge to pick up the slack, and the season finale that, accd to Lenkov, comes 'full circle'...does this mean Danno goes back to Jersey?? We have a sense that SC hasn't been totally on board with this show...I hope this is not the case and I am wildly speculating.....

I don't think Scott is leaving but he is going to be less on the show like this season but maybe more show with out him in. I hope I am wrong but I think Cath dose not come home from Afghanistan with Steve. So we will have 5 men and one women, and Grace will have less time as well. So we will see more of Jerry and Grover when Danny and Kono are not in the episode. We need more women even all the other characters on the show are men. |

So it looks like Jorge Garcia who play Jerry will be taking Caths place on Five0. I hope they don't shove him in our faces. I hope they use him like max only when needed I could cope with this.

I'm kinda thinking they'll use him like Max. I don't think he'd physically be able to be a full-time member of Five-0 (I'm thinking really active things like chasing down perps). Cath was able to do all that would be required of a police officer and I think it would be a stretch to think that Jorge could take her place in that regard. However, in the capacity we've seen him ... sorta the techy, nerdy, conspiracy-theorist ... I think he'd be a great resource for them. He clearly knows a lot about Hawaiian history and mystery and I'm really looking forward to seeing how they use him in that way. Fingers crossed that they use him in moderation ... can you imagine him and Max together! |
