It was good and action packed....but it gave me no closure on the whole Wo Fat and Mama McG connection that was brought up in the SEASON 3 finale. Would it kill them to spill the beans?

I liked it. I agree that it's past time to provide some info on the WoFat story. When you draw a story out this long, it's very hard to come up with a satisfying ending. Nice to see Ian get it. I've really disliked that character. (Which is a complement to a villain I guess).
I'm glad they avoided a cliff hanger. Most cliff hangers set up impossible situations that are resolved in the first 5 minutes of the season premier. This episode left me with a positive forward looking feeling about the show.

Ok, so it really was better than I expected, because my first reaction to this was “been there, done that” to almost all the components. And it really felt like they just rewrote bits and pieces from the past seasons and put them together again – but in a fairly good way. - How useless are those “let me see if you swallowed the pill” checks? Do the pill checkers not watch TV? - Yikes, Wo Fat looks like that old Mel Gibson movie, “The Man Without a Face”. Must say I liked how he looked a lot better before his helicopter crash (still don’t like how they caught him, it seemed so stupid somehow – and on a “reality show” for everyone to see, on top of it, which was pretty humiliating for poor old Wo). - The “rent me” car scene was pretty hilarious. I thought Danno flew out at one point. - Wo Fat and Dementoid were together again. Big shocker. - OK, Ian kills the dog’s owner, steals his cage, but just because he feeds it, the dog is okey-dokey with everything else? - The missing $$ was a pretty good twist – although, I liked Hess burning Steve’s heist $$ better. - Oh, but it gets better…. Money, money, who’s got the money? - Samantha’s never been developed enough for me to feel much of a kinship with her (unlike when Monkey got kidnapped), but Grover was pretty heart-breaking. - And I was hoping it’d be Danno that talks to him. Good call on that one. - I have to hand it to the Jonas kid – he really is a hateful bad guy. Someone shoot him already. - Well, that was unexpected, although I guessed Samantha’s saviour would be Wo Fat as soon as they said Ian was dead. But you got me on the why and how he knew. Knew there was a reason why I like Wo Fat so much, though – and it isn’t his good looks any more. - How gorgeous is Hawaii? ?? - Heart-warming scene and all, but WHY do TPTB insist on shoving a fifth H50 member down our throats? ?? It hasn’t worked since the beginning of time, and it ain’t working for me now. Other than that, pretty good episode, though.

My parents had a dog when I was little. He barked at everyone who came up the drive. Except for the two guy who stole all 4 tires off my Dad's car one night. Dogs are just that way.

Interesting story. How did Wo Fat know where Ian was and even know Ian? Another big question. Mama visits Wo Fat - strange. Danny teases Steve about it - funny. When did Grover's wife come to Hawaii? Did I miss something? Gov dismisses Grover from HPD but going to be OK with him on 50 team? Doubtful. Too many loopholes in this story. More than usual. At least Cath was mentioned. She better be back in the series finale if not before. Liked the scene between Grover and Danny. Glad they mentioned Adam again and we know Kono and Adam are still together.

For the most part, I enjoyed this episode but I do have some unanswered questions:
Did Doris NOT know she killed Wo Fat's mother instead of his father ... sounded like that's what they were saying. Will have to listen closer on a second viewing.
How did Wo Fat know what was going on with Ian and where to find him? Perfect timing. How did he even get to Hawaii?
Why would it be the Governor who fired Grover and not the Chief of Police?
Why do they bring people in who have a connection that's beneficial to Five-0, only to destroy the connection but then make the person part of Five-0. SWSNBN started out having a connection to the Governor but was quickly dragged into Five-0 to the point that we never saw her interact with the Gov. Catherine's connection to the Navy could have been used to Five-0's benefit but they had her leave the Navy and then she was asked to join Five-0. Now Grover ... SWAT and Five-0 together ... occasionally ... would have been a good fit. But he screws up, gets fired, and they ask him to join Five-0. No Navy connection. No SWAT connection. No one spying on them for the Gov. They all joined Five-0 ... even Jenna, in a way ... and every one of them is now gone except the new guy. I suppose it could have been done to offer Grace and Scott time to do other things (personal or professional) and keep them on the show ... but I just see Grover as somehow not really fitting. If there were ever two leaders, it's Steve and Grover. How are they going to credibly make Grover work FOR Steve instead of, as he has been, working WITH Steve? I actually DO like Grover. I'm just not sure I'm going to like him as part of Five-0. But will keep an open mind about it and hope it works out.
It's only fair to say that I enjoyed the car chase with the "clown car" and I like that Danny was the one to go out and talk to Grover. It made sense that he would, being a father himself, but since I don't think everything made sense in this episode, I'm glad that did. Good advice he gave him. Was glad to see Wo Fat back, even though I think his presence in this episode was solely to be there to kill Ian (still want to know how he got to Hawaii and how he knew what was going on and how he found just the right moment to be there to kill Ian). I think they're setting us up for Season 5 and renewed villainy from Wo Fat. But his message that he and Steve need to meet to talk makes me wonder if he's ready to tell him what the connection is between them. That would be so nice to have at least one mystery explained.

This is waaaaay out there---actually started thinking about this several months ago......Maybe Ian is the son of Doris and Wo Fat. And maybe Wo Fat works for the CIA and he is (or was) Doris' partner.
Just ponderings now that the season is over --and as always it brought up way more questions than it answered...

Not really so way out there. I haven't been thinking about it quite that long and I didn't put Doris in the picture ... but I did think that Wo Fat and Ian might be father / son and that's why we were getting them both in the same episode. Still, I didn't think there was enough time for WF to get to Hawaii and be part of the "solution" to the kidnapping so I was thinking we might get both Ian and WF back in at least the first episode of S5. Also ... was there actually confirmation that Ian was dead ... or is it possible that it'll be like Hesse? They think he's dead but he shows up later. It could always be explained that WF got rid of the body before anyone could get to the house.

Argh!

The whole "rent-me" car chase was hilarious with Danny yelling at Steve for the way he was driving. And I enjoyed listening to Danny snark at Steve about Wo Fat and Doris.
I do so hope that Ian is really and truly dead. I didn't like him at all. And like the rest of you, I wonder how Wo Fat knew about Ian and how to find him. And how did he get back to Hawaii in the first place?
I'm not sure how I feel about Grover joining up with 5-0. I liked him in his role as the SWAT captain. I think he worked really well in that -- not sure how he's going to fit in with the gang.
I do wish that Peter would tie up some of the loose ends hanging around. The way he and the other PTB keep dragging them out -- I would hate for the show to end and not have any answers.

Well ofcourse Wo fat breaks out of Super Max. Solitary confinement. Guess he was fed up with Ian taking up all of 5-0s time. Maybe there is a villain registry, where others know where you are?? "Well I see so and so is robbing the bank on the corner of Sandy Beach and Pebble Lane today so we better stay out of that part of town." That was quite a look on his face when Wo Fat was at the door. I hated but liked Ian. That talk where he thinks he is better then you.
Steve and Danny doing the 3 wheeled cart pursuit of a Mustang was a little odd. Danny saying he is going to die in the clown car, was funny. Duke took Henry Dunbar into custody.
Cyber snook Ian Wright grabbed Samantha Grover in the library. Probably makes all parents cringe a little.
I figured when Agent Novak(The Sentinel,Desperate Housewives)came to help that he was going to be bad. The Head Robber had also been on Desperate Housewives.
Did Catherine actually say she was gone? Or did she just go to Afghanistan and hasn't come back yet? Even if her character is written out of the show. She could be like Doris/ Joe White, talked about but not in Hawaii.
I see why Joe White has been mentioned but hasn't come back, since he has a new show. Well Grover being retired from the force for all he did to get his daughter back was kind of harsh. But be asked to join 5-0 must be to take Catherine's place. He had gotten away from being the one that pulled 5-0 back in for all it did outside the lines. But will Steve now have his Danny conscience on one side and his Grover conscience on the other? Maybe someday to Duke can join the force.
