I have purchased every Five-0 season so far on blu-ray and this year there seems to be a some kind of problem going on. I heard that the release was cancelled but Amazon asked me if I wanted to wait until November 5th to see if it came out. Has anyone heard why this has been held back? I am sure I can buy the DVD version of it but you really can't beat blu-ray.

By the way, never mind. Thanks for all your help with this question. The blu-ray version was cancelled and no reason was given as to why. The DVD version of season four looks terrible. They did a terrible job putting season four together.

I never bought the DVD versions of seasons 1 - 3. I only bought the blu-rays and it was well worth spending the extra money for. If this is how the DVD set has looked since season one then the DVD owners of this series have been getting screwed.

What did you find wrong with it? I'll admit that I haven't watched them on anything but my laptop but I don't feel that I've been getting screwed. I haven't seen an issue with them. I'm just curious what, specifically, you mean about the "look" ... are you talking about video quality (which I don't have an issue with) or is there something included on the blu-ray that isn't on the DVDs? Our perspective may be different since I haven't seen it in blu-ray but I haven't found it inferior to other DVDs I've bought.

The first screen capture is from the season 4 DVD. Now this one is a screen capture from the Five-0 Blu-Ray version. And just to show you how good the quality of the blu-ray is compared to the DVD take a look at this scenic Hawaii shot that they show occasionally on the show. This is what I mean. If there was any show made for blu-ray production it is Five-0.

Your blu-ray pictures didn't come through. All I see is an X in a box. The Properties of the blu-ray pics don't look complete.

And I'll agree that the picture quality is beautiful. But, honestly ... even seeing the difference, I don't feel like I've been screwed by buying the DVDs. Maybe I'd pay more for a blu-ray of my favorite movie that I knew I was going to watch repeatedly. I buy the DVDs for the extras as I've already DVR'd the episodes and could keep them that way. I'm not sure I need an enhanced image to watch the blooper reel. I think it's great if that's what you want because that scenic shot is gorgeous and, you know, maybe if I wanted to watch it on a wide screen tv or something like that I'd want that video quality. But for my purposes, the DVDs are really just fine.
