I like bio-terror stuff, so good episode for me, although I kept expecting the NCIS team to drop in like last time we had a virus episode. - Locke Joe returns to the island - I'm pretty sure my kids had a video game with a wrecking ball and cars. Wonder if that was the inspiration? Pretty impressive, though. Someone should do a gif with the Miley Cyrus video and combine it with this. - Steve is definitely back in SuperSEAL mode. - Decimating the whole world is just a tad extreme, no? - Extreme job interview. - Don't really want Joe to die. - But if he's going to go finding Doris, then maybe he should have.

This episode was too over-the-top for me. I know this show can be like a comic book and I do enjoy McGarrett in super seal mode but there was too much action and not enough character stuff. This virus can destroy the world but only 5-0 goes to the farm with the bees....I thought Joe was going to die because he was featured so prominently....last hurrah and all but alas he lives! There was just too much shoot-em up....not enough Danno....Also my prediction is that they are going to kill off Mom McG....and just finish that storyline for good and move on....(maybe its a hope, too :-)) Did you all see one of the promos for the show for Valentines Day? Catherine was in it....What the what?

I loved the episode
Loved seeing Joe back I know he is shady and lies to Steve but I love the chemistry between Steve and Joe and this could be the start of finding out about Doris and will continue in episode 5.18. Glad they did not kill him off. Loved seeing Danny and Kono together Bees I hate them so that was a bit creepy for me Loved Steve riding the motorbike and seeing super seal back and with lots of action this week.

Loved this episode. I enjoyed the action this week and the stunts were very good. Steve being the navy seal. Definitely Joe is not to be trusted. When he said he would buy Steve loco moco I thought there's more to this than paying off Steve with food. Glad Steve doesn't trust him

I too loved this episode - the opening crash scene was AMAZING, I was screaming when the wrecking ball hit. Kudos to the writers who envisioned this and the crew who made it happen. Thought maybe Joe would be dead at that moment but glad he survived, nice to have Terry Quinn back with his bearded look from Gang Related. Thought Alex did a great job with acting/facial expressions when he was on the dock talking to Joe in the water - saw anger, frustration, relief, concern, understanding - the depth of their complicated relationship over the years. Doris needs to be found and answers given.

Although I'm not really interested in the "find Doris" mission, I'm pretty sure they'll find she's dead, since I don't see Ms. Lahti in any big hurry to return to H50. And I really don't want a repeat of the whole thing about Joe loving Steve like a son but always keeping things from him, and Steve loving him as evidenced by his freaking out when he realized what Joe was going to do, and then thinking he was dead, but still not trusting him. When Joe came back, I was hoping all that would be behind them. Oh well, I guess they can't come up with new stuff all the time, so we'll have to go through it again. Agree with binda that it was over the top, but that's what I've always liked about this show, so I don't really mind the comic-book aspect of it. Guess it's to be expected, with PL producing. And obviously I agree with binda's opinion re. Doris - I was also hoping that storyline was done. Haven't seen the promo for next episode. If it's the Valentine's episode, I guess BambiAmber will be back? Maybe her storyline will end too and Danno can take up with the new ME.

One thing that people may have overlooked is the Doris McGarrett storyline is not done yet. Sure, it's been on the back burner for awhile but it's far from over. One thing I am not aware of is does Christine Lahti want to come back to the show or has she said she is not interested? Or maybe her schedule has prevented her from returning?
As for Joe White, I don't think he means Steve any harm but I am very curious as to why he can not be honest with him. But this guy is a pro and I wonder how quickly he is going to discover that he is being watched? I love the cliffhangers on this show because they keep you thinking.

I'm wondering if I'm seeing things or if anyone else noticed this. After the car wreck, Steve has a white bandage about his arm. But at the scene of the wreck, it looks to me like Alex has a flesh colored bandage wrapped around his arm. It looks like he was hurt before that scene played out and they used the white bandage to cover it up.
Also, on rewatching, I did see the Kay Jewelers ad that included Catherine. Either it's from a previous year ... or the person who put it together was using last season's episodes and was clueless about the core four. They might have even thought they were putting the core four in the ad. I can't imagine TPTB thinking it was a really good idea to include Catherine in a commercial shown during a 5-0 episode. They still have another week to go before Valentine's Day ... I wonder if we'll see it again.

I noticed the bandage, too, Katlyn. Looked like an ace bandage to me and I wondered with it was due to a RL strain or whether it was a "Steve" injury from the previous episode (which I missed). I always like things to be within the "context" -- absences or injuries or whatever acknowledged or explained. But guess it's not always possible. Or then again, maybe none of the PTB are as obsessive about continuity and detail as I am! :+)

Well-I'm late to this party---we had dinner plans last Friday night and my laptop was in the computer hospital so I wasn't able to watch the episode until just now. I enjoyed it--lots of action and the opening attack on the convoy was amazing. Yes--there was an ace bandage on Alex's arm......maybe he messed it up in an earlier take of this scene. Not much Danny in this ep.......Joe is obviously hiding stuff.....If there was a Kay jewelers ad in this ep --I didn't see it....which scene is it in? Wondering if they are going to kill off Joe this season. That would be one way of tying his story line up...of course that still leaves the Doris story line to tie up...

One other thought....when Joe was walking off the cargo plane and Steve was walking out to meet him---I really wanted Steve to slug Joe instead of shaking his hand....
