Well---it was a great episode. Chi knocked it out of the park. But--minimal core 4. NO Steve and Danny scenes.......what is up with that? There have been very few, if any, Steve and Danny scenes of late. I'm beginning to think Alex and Scott don't want to work together anymore....just my humble opinion. Not trying to start rumors or anything.

Good little episode. Guess it was Chi's turn to have a big one so I can forgive the lack of the Core 4. But I think even Max's big episode had more Core 4 in it than this one did. Oh well.
Something that bugged me - Grover thinks Clay killed his wife, yet he asks her to grab Clay's phone because he thinks it might have evidence? And then he leaves his wife alone with a man he suspects of being a killer? OK, I know, there wasn't really a reason for Clay to kill Grover's wife too, but what if there HAD been something on the phone that Clay hadn't thought he erased? Would you chance your loved one like that? Nitpicky, I know. Maybe I just couldn't find anything wrong other than the lack of Core 4 so I'm looking for things to microanalyze. Even the elevator gods like Dr. Shaw and Danno, so they threw them together. Maybe other gods will, too.

Not trying to start rumors or anything. I think is more about Scott not being there filming and being in LA. I don't understand why Scott's Girlfriend has to be in LA with the baby all the time, except Scott probably planned it this way so he could be in LA more and less time in Hawaii. Scott's scheduling filming Five 0 is like 2 weeks filming one week off. When Scott is missing from a episode he has 2 weeks off. So Scott was not in episode 5.19 so he probably did not come back to Hawaii until near the end of filming 5.20. It all depends if he has time off at the beginning of filming a new episode or at the end of it. So looking at the promo for next week we see Scott with the team.

Another good episode
I like Chi McBride I think he is a good actor and I love Grover in Five 0. Wish we had more scene with Steve and Grover love their chemistry but I am glad Alex had some time off this week. It ended with out Grover finding out if his friend did kill his wife will this be carried on to another episode Sad at the end Loved Danny and Mindy trapped in the elevator very cute. They have good chemistry together. Officer Pua Kai is back and his obsession with Kono I think he is stalking her.

Grover was great in this episode. Show really great acting from Chi. I liked the scenes between Danny and Mindy. Scott did not have scenes with Alex, since he probably came to the set already when he was filmed an episode 5.20. So his scenes were filmed separately.
I'm afraid of the audience of this episode. On Thursday, most of the TV series had large declines due to Easter. The Big Bang Theory from 4.4 to 3.4, compared with the previous episode. So I suspect that for the first time in the history, Hawaii Five-0 will have a ratio below 1.1. Would probably be 1.0, and maybe even worse..

Enjoyed the episode and different pace. Chi was very good. I do admit I missed a lot of Steve but what there was it was ok. Alex had done every episode since his short time in the Christmas one so he deserved a rest. I do like Mindy. Loved her in this episode.

It was a very good episode and a nice change of pace. Agree that it lacked the Steve and Danny bromance we are used to seeing at least a bit of in each episode. There wasn't much of Danny, and even less of Steve in this one, but what there was was very good. I liked the angsty/comic side of Danny being trapped in an elevator. Shaw handled him perfectly. Would have been funnier if it had been Steve trapped in there with him, though.
The case itself was well done. Kind of like that Grover never got the definitive proof he needed, which will send him back to Chicago. Too bad that's not a good enough excuse for him being absence in next week's episode. But according to the 5.21 promo he will be there, but hopefully it will be more core 4 centered.
I really liked Mrs. Grover in this one. She did well in every aspect as Grover's wife, friend to Clay & Diane, in helping with the case as well as supporting her husband when she brought him the phone.
I don't think Danno's Dani is being nitpicky at all about Grover asking his wife to get the phone. In fact, even leaving his wife at their house with someone he thinks is a killer seems a stretch, although I can't imagine her being willing to leave her home on a hunch. Good call, Dani.
Speaking of the phone... why did we not once hear Clay's phone ring? Well, aside from it not being necessary to the script. When a friend of ours had a heart attack, his wife's phone rang non-stop! People called constantly - friends, relatives, co-workers, neighbors - to see how he was doing, because they'd just gotten word, because they couldn't get to the hospital themselves, etc., etc., etc. Her phone just rang and rang. After two days we eventually had to get it away from her so she would sleep. Anyway, my point is that it would have been both realistic for Clay's phone to ring non-stop, especially since he was out of state when the 'accident' happened, not to mention it would have been a good excuse for Mrs. Grover to try to get it away from him. Hmmm, Dani, sounds like I'm the one who's being 'nitpicky' now.
If Clay does go free, hopefully Grover's having talked with the lady he was having an affair with will mean she wants nothing to do with him. Can't stand cheaters! Hopefully there will be a future mention of this case's conclusion.
Would have preferred Sargent Lukela to Officer Kai. But at least Kai wasn't drooling over Kono in this one.
Would like to have seen Dr. Shaw do a little more with the body - even if it was just to kill time and keep Danny calm in the elevator - although finding the button was good.

... Officer Pua Kai is back and his obsession with Kono I think he is stalking her. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks this. I posted on his second appearance that he may be a stalker. Don't know why but he's given me a creepy feeling since then.

Just a wild guest.

More like an awkward balance between geeky shyness and annoyingly flirtatious. But just to be safe, maybe someone should make sure Kai is not on the guest list. Ya know, 'cause there's always that "... speak now or forever hold your peace" moment when he could chose to... ya know,... 'speak'. All that said... would it be too much to ask for if Kai was secretly in the back pocket of the Yakuza?

Secretly in the back pocket of the Yakuza? Runner, that is an awesome twist! Thanks, DebraLuv. His character has just gotten to the point that he annoys me. His having a crush on Kono was funny at first, but now he is just there doing things that Sgt. Lukela should be doing. He needs to go. So, if he's gonna go, why not make it that way.
