I thought these episodes were fantastic. It was the Hawaii 5 0 that I know and love. Bromance was alive and well!! I was wrong...woohoo!!! If there is a season 6, there is no reason to think that SC/Danno wont be there. I think they have set up a possible Danno Rachel reunion as AmberMelissa won't trust him anymore... I loved the action too-nothing like bad ass Steve McG-so true Mandyblue The core 4 was there and the bit players were there just enough to have the one line they had be so typical and great of their characters.... I couldn't get enough and I want more more more....there had better be a season6...and beyond..... I really don't see Danno ever trusting Rachel again or wanting to be with her. As someone said, her character has now been totally trashed. Psycho Rachel who was the bane of Danno's existance was the best. Waffling Rachel who couldn't decide between husbands was annoying as hell. And this Needy Rachel.... no thanks. If anything, this whole Charlie thing gives them a very convenient out for Danno - they mentioned him now being a father of two and so, having to be very careful not to let anything to him, about 3 times. Which makes me think foreshadowing to S.6 = Danno is MIA, and it's explained in one of those 3-second sentences that he gave up being a cop because he now has 2 children. And if it's said that he's gotten back together with Rachel to bring up the kids together.... I'll just pretend I never heard that part. I do hope I'm wrong, because H50 without Danno will just never be the same. Grover (who's been groomed to fit into Danno's role) has grown on me, but he's no Danno. Any of the Core 4 missing would change the show. |

You are right-how could he trust Rachel?...Are they in Vegas or in Hawaii? I remember that was the reason she wanted full custody but I thought those plans fell through....Either way I'll take season 6 with partial Danno over no season 6.....

Charlie is having some sort of treatment so Danny is MIA just for that week. It didn't sound like (from PL's post season interview) that it was to give Danny a reason to disappear. So until I hear otherwise, I'm going to presume that we'll see Scott about as much in S6 as we did in S5. |

I enjoyed both episodes very much. Steve was amazing and it was so great to listen in on new carguments! Two things were disturbing about the finale for me...it never occurred to me that Rachel would intentionally choose Stan for Charlie's father. I just assumed that she did not know Danny was actually Charlie's father. Danny will never reunite with Rachel. Rachel did deprive him of his son for 3 years. That's really hard to forgive.
Something was not right with Catherine. She wasn't very animated and binda23 mentioned something was different about her face. I noticed it immediately.
Does anyone else see Alex O'Loughlin as the next James Bond? He has matured over the years for the role. I wonder if he will audition for James Bond after H50 is over? Have a good summer. See you for Season 6!

I did get the not very animated part and I didn't think there was any chemistry between her and Steve this time around but I compared a "before" pic (one in the Michelle Borth pictures thread of PL hugging her) to the "after" pic (Steve hugging her) and I didn't really see a facial change. Maybe the hairstyle made her look different ... a little flatter and pulled to the side in that braid. |

I think it was longer hair that made Cath look a bit different plus the braid pulled to the sides. Steve and Cath still have great chemistry and I hope we will see more of her in season 6 but not on the team as that did not work. |

I think Catherine looked great. She looked different because of her hair. I think the "flatness" was part of the iffy nature of the reunion. She was a bit tentative not knowing how Steve would receive her. For all she knew, there was another woman in Steves house (although intelligence agent. Catherine would probably know this  |

Think about when Danny tell Steve that Charlie had been in the room many times when he'd been to pick-up/drop-off Grace, and Rachel, too. Obviously the point Danny was making was that his own son had been so close on so many occasions and that Rachel had had many opportunities to tell him... but what stood out to me was that 1) Rachel still lived on the island, at least part-time 2) they shared custody of Grace. With no mention of step-Stan, I'm ass-uming he lives in Vegas full-time, but it at least appears that Rachel is part-time in Hawai'i. |

Was just re-reading an interview with PL about the S5 finale. This part caught my attention....
Yes, the wedding will still happen, but it may involve some delayed gratification for viewers. Lenkov explains that Adam (Ian Anthony Dale) and Kono will exchange vows in the finale but won't actually have their first dance until the show returns next season.
Adam & Kono will exchange vows? Um, no they did not. Not in the finale, because Chin never came back with the rings and everyone was left waiting for his return. It would have been nice to see Chin's return and the wedding at least begin as the camera zoomed out and then we could at least see that the wedding was actually going to take place, and it would have fit with the episode title.
Perhaps with the first dance taking place in 6.01 that means we will get to see the wedding, too. Although that would be nice, I doubt it, because PL said he didn't want A&K's wedding to be too much like Chin & Malia's.

For what it's worth, I agree with you, and several others, DebraLuv. I have re-watched that scene play out; the look of shock on Steve's face at who held his missing towel, Catherine's expression of uncertainty as she she greeted him, how she bit her lip as she took an almost tentative step forward, the way she rambled on about not calling ahead, then how she visibly relaxed when his response was to hug her first. She had good reasons for being a bit nervous at showing up. That said, her limited line(s) while at HQ were quite flat, but there wasn't much for her to say or do in that scene, either. |

That's the video...thanks, Katlyn. After watching this McBond video and re-watching the episode, I decided to take a few screen shots of Steve in Bond-mode. Although I clearly got carried away. Apparently I can only attach 3 at a time, so I will apologize now if this gets annoying. 1) McBond should always look good when shirtless and/or wet. 2) McBond should always study his target before a mission. 3) McBond should always look good in tactical gear and multiple weapons. |
