A very good result, but as they say in the article advertisers do not (usually we) pay attention to the total viewer counts. More important is indicator 18-49, than the audience in the millions.

With the active population aging and more advertisers targeting those who are 50 and older, networks are realizing that people don't stop watching tv and don't stop spending money when they hit the age of 50. That's why there are now other age groups reported. The ratings system has been around for so long that its had to add different reporting groups because those 50 and older are much more active than the same age group was a generation ago ... and they're spending money differently than the same age group was a generation ago. And networks are, fortunately, paying attention. Five-0's demographic is much better when you look at the 25-54 group; there would be no reason to report that if the networks weren't asking them to do so. Still, regardless of which demographic you look at, managing to put TWO Friday night shows in the top twenty on viewers alone is considered much more impressive now than it was when ratings were first introduced.

Very good points made about those of us 50+ that have more disposable income, which of course all those advertisers want us to spend. Five-0 did very well in the ratings.
