In the 5th season of Hawaii Five-0, McGarrett continues to try to bring closure to his father's case and closure to his mother's past, while the state's brash Five-O unit, who may spar and jest among themselves, remains determined to eliminate the seedy elements from the 50th state. 2 new full-time cast members join the beat this season: Chi McBride ("Boston Public") and Jorge Garcia ("LOST").

CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Media Distribution have today announced that on September 1st they will release Hawaii Five-0 - The 5th Season on DVD. Note that currently this title has been announced for DVD only; no Blu-ray version is indicated. But what the heck? The blu-ray format was MADE for this show. There's no excuse why they are not doing this again.

There's hope, though. Haven't most of the seasons eventually come out on Blu-ray. I know you like that format and the pics you've posted have been nice and clear so I understand wanting it. But maybe it's just a delayed release like the other seasons. Maybe???

They had the first three seasons on blu-ray. Season four was the first time they didn't release a blu-ray version and there was never an explanation why. I don't know about season five yet because when I checked today you can not even pre-order this yet. It's the picture quality that I like about them. I hope it's a delayed release. If not, I won't buy the DVD version at all.
