Has anyone else received their S5 DVDs. Some interesting deleted scenes. I didn't think the gag reel was as good as it's been in the past but okay. A nice video about their stunt team. And, of course, the S5 recap episode-by-episode. Don't want to spill too much about the extras ... just curious if anyone else has received it.
Not yet we have to wait until the 14th September to get our season 55 dvd. Any surprise deleted scenes that should have been kept in the show. Witch episodes have commentary about them.

There's commentary from PL, Brian Spicer and Peter Tassler on 5.01 and from PL and Larry Teng on 5.07 (the 100th).
As far as deleted scenes, on the episode with Melina Kanakaredes as the fire investigator, there are a couple deleted scenes that have them looking at another suspect entirely and I don't think the actor even ended up in the episode because his scenes were cut. The episode with Rachel telling Danny about Charlie had a couple Amberlissa scenes that make you wonder about hers and Danny's future (so it's now not surprising that she wasn't with Danny at the wedding). They cut out the only Grace scene in the 100th episode (although she was in the video montage). There's a scene in the wedding episode in which Kono and Adam are on the phone when the rehearsal dinner is going on and she's telling him she's not going to be able to make it. There are deleted scenes from about 15 of the episodes; some more interesting than others and some that might have changed the story a bit.

I don't really know if they've split. Amber pulls up at the park and sees Danny and Rachel sitting on the bench together. She looks upset ... and then she just drives away. In the scene where Danny arrives at the hospital for his appointment to be tested, in the show you see him glance at a text message from Steve that says, I think, "Hang in there, partner." Something like that. In the deleted scene he listens to a voicemail from Amber before he enters the hospital and she's talking about how she's leaving him a message to try to make it easier on him than face-to-face. She says she knows he's got a lot going on with work and Grace and Rachel and she'll understand if he wants out. But she says she thinks what they have is "real" and hopes he does too and he should call her. We only saw her in that episode at the beginning, I think, when she picked up his phone and read the message from Rachel that he said was from work. And that's the last we saw her in S5. I would have expected her to be his date for the wedding but maybe that was filmed before the scenes were deleted and they thought we'd see that scene and think they were over. As it was, it just left us wondering why Amber wasn't at the wedding with Danny.

It was great seeing the gag reel, although I don't think it is as funny as the gag reel in previous seasons. I still haven't ordered my DVD for Season 5....In previous years I have always done the pre-ordered it in May. We had a crazy summer helping move my in-laws to memory care in Tucson, AZ. We live in Missouri--so we spent a lot of time down there and nothing got done here. Maybe I will find it in the bargin bin at Wal Mart......

I have to admit that I always wonder why CBS allows someone to post their copyrighted material (especially something that's just come out) on YouTube and they don't immediately have it taken down. I'm not suggesting they do because I think it's great that people who would have only bought the DVDs to watch the gagreel and the deleted scenes can see those without having to buy the DVDs. I'm just wondering why they don't do what Warner Brothers does ... they even have 50 year old shows removed from YouTube if someone posts them and people have had their YouTube accounts closed because of WB violations. Really, just curious by CBS doesn't do that...
I have watched the deleted scenes from 5.01. They should have left the scene with Steve showing the message from Catherine to Danny that she was staying that would explain a lot and we would not be asking where is Catherine in the episode.
