I didn't get the impression that Cath was leaving to work with Doris. Since the voice on the phone called her Lieutenant, I thought she'd gone back to Naval Intelligence. I actually thought she might have been recruited to go back to Afghanistan in a covert military capacity since she has contacts there. Maybe she was threatened because of entering the country the way she did (with Steve) and has to work for the military or face jail time. Obviously we don't know any more than what we heard but my first thought was Navy (because of the rank) and that she was being used because of her local contacts in Afghanistan.
I did think the montage meant we'd seen the last of her ... but the phone call made me think there could be more at some point.
Loved Steve and Danny together ... so glad they've brought the two of them together more. I kinda liked Danny going to talk to Catherine; I liked that he has Steve's back in more than their professional lives. I realize they had to end the episode on that dramatic note but, seriously, when Catherine first picked up her phone, I thought we were going to hear her call Danny and tell him that Steve needed him because she didn't want him alone after they parted. I kinda wanted to see Danny find out that despite his efforts, Cath had left.
