It WAS another good episode! I'm getting spoiled here.
- that was off to a quick start - Grover gets all the funny bits now - Steve knows a trick or two, Liz - I really, really have to get myself over to Hawaii - why do all the players look like they're sucking on pacifiers? - Steve found Oceanic Flight 815! Now all we need is Jin. - who needs a rearview mirror when you have a nice shiny bowie knife? - Kukui football games never lack for extra excitement and bad guys - does Grover ever smoke that cigar or does he just carry it around? - hello Season 1 interrogation flashback.... - Chin's car is the offspring of the Dukes' General Lee and Starski's Torino - being alive at the end of the first date is definitely a good thing

OK--the only thing I didn't like: there was no mention of where our Danno was....

Wonderful episode! The best episode in season 6. Storyline on desert island was great. A lot of action, tension, Steve and Lynn fighting for life. All scenes with Steve & Lynn, and villains was entirety on outside in the pretty landscapes, in the jungle, at and under water! I love Hawaii. Lynn for now is very cool for me. I like her. The second storyline also was good. I like things related to the sports in Hawaii Five-0, also with American football. The entire episode was great, I'm very satisfied.

Enjoyed this episode. Loved Grover. Definitely had the best lines. Great to see Steve more relaxed. Thought Lynn was lightweight. Time out on her and the relationship

When she tried for the gun and the guy just pushed her away, I had the exact thought, except I thought deadweight. She could have at least been able to push the guy away from Steve or something, instead of just being a female in distress. Sure, I wouldn't expect much in real life, but this is H50 - we have badass ladies here, so why couldn't Lynn be a bit of one? Although, all in all, she did bear up well, and I sort of like her with Steve. As a fun date. Waaaaay too early to get into heavy relationships again!
Grover definitely had the best lines - he gets all the funny bits that Danno would normally get. And coming from someone who did not like him in the beginning, I have to admit he does it well.
Speaking thereof, where is Scott these days, and why was he not even mentioned, as davila said?
Except for no Danno, this episode should make lots of people happy - basic core 4 (minus one!!!!!!!!!) and no peripherals (unless you count Grover as one, or Hawaii itself) to distract.

I think the writers wanted something else. A character who doesn't work in the police, not a lawyer, not a doctor, etc., and the character that is normal, who afraid, who not a badass, and who don't knows martial arts. And it makes me happy, because cool to see something else. As for Danny as we know Scott will not appear in 5 episodes in season 6. So this episode was one of those episodes. Though I wish we had explained his absence like in episode 6.04. But that's just a small minus, because the whole episode was great. For me, the best episode in season 6.

one of the best episodes so far from season 6 Top 5. Loved Steve struggling with his emotions through out the episode plus all the action with Steve becoming bad ass Seal. You can tell Steve is still in love with Catherine right from the start while talking to Grover about the date with Lynn and Grover mention Cath and Steve cut him off. Taking the selfie with him and Lynn and Steve showing some sadness he was think about Catherine. loved seeing a relaxed Steve trying to have fun with Lynn. Loved all the underwater scenery.
I saw a bit of chemistry between Steve and Lynn but only friendship not as a LI. I think they could become good friends. It will be interesting to see if Steve Mentions Lynn in other Episodes.

I do remember reading an interview with Scott Cann where it was mentioned that he would be doing 5 episodes less than the rest of the cast, so it's no surprise he's not there, again. This is probably why PL introduced the drama with little Charlie, so there would always be an excuse and us fans are to make ass-umptions.
I did enjoy the S1 feel to this episode. It was so good to see Steve back in Super SEAL mode again.
As for Lynn, I did like her. Although I think it's too early for Steve to move on and I'm not really wanting to see any more shipping on the show, I still liked Lynn. I thought she was well written and well cast. Agree with the lightweight/deadweight part, even though she is a civilian and shouldn't be expected to know hand-to-hand or have any other resemblance to Ramboette. Hopefully that cup of coffee she hopes to get with Steve won't involve combat breathing.
Grover really did get the good lines in this one. Now he just needs to get rid of that stupid looking cigar... which, by the way, are banned on most school campuses (even unlit). Regardless, it's still a school, and the cigar just shouldn't have been in the scene.
"I'm right here, guys." You tell 'em, Kono! 'Cause,... thumb? Seriously, Chin? As a female viewer, I'm with Kono on this one.
I've read all the comments so far and am noticing that no one has asked this question; why didn't Steve use the flare gun to shoot one off and try to signal that someone was on the island? An inhabited island or not, there are still boats all around that could have seen a flare.
Will be re-watching this episode later, for sure, so I'll probably have a few more things to add at that time.

Though I wish we had explained his absence like in episode 6.04. But that's just a small minus, because the whole episode was great. For me, the best episode in season 6. Lynn was certainly normal. I guess I just like my TV women to be tough - I hate the "damsel in distress" type - probably because it reminds me that, that would most likely be me if I were ever in a TV-like situation. She did well anyhow, and maybe Steve appreciates her all the more, because she isn't a tough Navy lady like Cath, yet she still stuck it out and did pretty well. And that being said, it's too early for a Steve romance. Let him flirt and have some fun before he has his heart broken again. Or he finds someone and then Cath shows up again.
Was there a reason given for Scott being away? He seems to do it a lot, which is sad for us Dannoettes.
Although, Grover is doing a good job with filling in for Danno. Always felt like that's why he was brought in.
Runner, I can only think Steve didn't want the guy to know where they were, if he fired off the flare. Although, looking up at it, would anyone be able to pinpoint where it was fired from? I thought he'd shoot the guy with the flare, as has been done almost any time someone finds a flare gun.

I thought he'd shoot the guy with the flare, as has been done almost any time someone finds a flare gun. Thought of that too, Dani, but being on an island all they had to do was go to the other side, then move after shooting off the flare so they'd be long gone by the time anyone could get there. Just seemed like either a missed opportunity or not doing what was obvious. That said, if they'd done the obvious, then Steve and Lynn would have been denied the opportunity to walk away on the boat dock where us viewers could practically see Lynn's butt cheeks hanging out of her shorts. Hey,... do you think if we all pitched in an extra few cents on our cable bills that CBS could afford some more fabric? I liked the character of Lynn and enjoyed the episode, so I wasn't going to mention this, but if we were doing the GB&U for this episode as usual, then that would fit somewhere between the B&U category. What woman shows up on any first date with both her shirt and her shorts at least 2" too short? Yes, of course I realize they were going diving and she wore a bikini underneath, but that's not my point here. A little more modesty would have been just... better... in this scenario. Their attempts to show off the actresses body was just a bit too obvious. And yes, Dani, they really should have mentioned where Danny was so us viewers didn't all have to ass-ume he was with Charlie again. A simple one-liner would have taken care of that.
