Seemed like a filler episode to me. Lou seemed very out of character and a little over the top/obsessed with getting the confession out of Clay.

Weird episode but oh I loved the ohana that surfs together.... bonds together. It was like a bunch of siblings trying to one-up one another and really, everything else that happened in this episode pales compared to that gem.
Lou gone Dexter was disturbing, although it was supposed to be noble of him to put all the good things he has going for him, on the line, just to bring Clay to justice. And how handy that Clay pocketed the money so long ago.
I did however laugh as Grover multitasked - helping his kid with math homework via long-distance call, while keeping his torturee on hold. Well, he didn't quite torture him, but whatever. Also laughed when Clay jumped (no easy feat while duct-taped to a chair) every time Grover swung that long hammer (which I'm sure has a proper name, but not being a one-man demolition team like Grover, I have no idea what that name might be).
Gotta love it when the Deus ex machina comes in the shape of Danno and Steve.
Can I say again, how much I loved the ohana moment? Original core four at its best.

Glad Lou got Clay on stealing the money even if he couldn't get Clay to confess killing his wife. Wonder what happened in Philly? Best part for me was the ohana moments. Loved Steve and his concern for Chin and Kono

Wonder what happened in Philly? We will find out in episode 6.19, according Lenkov.

Suppose being held at gunpoint and being forced to dig a grave negates the bet between Kono/Chin and Steve/Danny? Glad to hear Philly will come back again re. Grover, but I agree he was too over-the-top and out of character for me. I get being driven to get a confession, but this was too much.

I know that Grace doesn't actually surf, even though she's supposed to be the champion surfer. But Scott and Alex do (don't know about DDK) so I think it would have been nice to see those who surf actually on a surfboard for even a few seconds. Just walking out of the water with surfboards under their arms was a little underwhelming. The eye candy was nice ... but when they tease you with pictures of them apparently coming up the beach after surfing, I was hoping we'd see some of them surfing and not just some stock footage of anonymous surfers.
Besides that ... I just kinda thought "that's it?" when the episode was over. Guys (and a girl) racing cars to get somewhere first. Guys who get there first realize something is wrong after they sit around for a while and they go back to look for the others and manage to get there JUST as they're about to be shot. Lou knocking down walls in his ex-best friend's house looking for money when I was yelling at the tv "It's in the garage in that old car!" Don't know why that hit me over the head when Lou picked up that sledge hammer ... except for a moment, I thought he was going to put a dent in the car with it ... but I kept telling him to go look in the garage (except I thought it would be in something like a tool box in the trunk ... it was close to the trunk though). If the episode was supposed to be "a day (or part of a day) in the life of 5-0 when they're not working on a case" then they succeeded. We didn't even find out who the cop in the trunk was or why he'd been killed. It really just seemed like a nothing episode to me. I doubt it will be on my "re-watch" list.
I think the one thing I liked best was when Chin reached for Kono's hand when they thought they were about to die. But then ... I know Kono is supposed to be a tough cop and all that but she looked so dazed at first by what had almost happened that I wanted one of the guys to give her a hug rather than just treat her like one of the guys. They all disappointed me in that regard.

Suppose being held at gunpoint and being forced to dig a grave negates the bet between Kono/Chin and Steve/Danny? Steve was acting so competitive in this episode that if we'd had the time to find out, I'm guessing he'd have claimed it was their fault for getting lost and he wouldn't have called off the bet. We'd have seen them all happily eating wings and drinking beer at the end of the episode.

This was an odd episode. It seemed like the writers didn't have any ideas. I'm really tired of team members being abducted! How many times has it happened?
I didn't like where they took Grover in this episode. It seemed very out of character.
