Well--it has been over 12 hours since the episode aired and no one has commented....I was really tired last night and I just went to bed without commenting. I thought it was just me, but I thought the episode was just so-so. The "shipwreck" story line was sort of weird. I did like Max though..... The COTW was OK.... when the plot is a bit convoluted, I have to be paying attention to follow it --and I think I was more tired than I thought last night. I was a bit under-whelmed by the whole thing...Like I have mentioned before, the consistency of the writing staff is off. They will have a really good episode and then It is just like they do filler episodes until the next really good plot line comes along. Do not understand this at all.

Good episode. Two cool storylines. In the first, kidnapping, a good villain, return of the Toast. The second storyline the adventure of Max, Kamekona, and Flippa. It was fun, and it turned out that Flippa has a talent for singing. Which is interesting because Shawn Garnett is singer and often he has performances in Hawaii.
davilarose, it's the end of the fillers. Three last episodes promise to be awesome. Especially two last episodes. I do not bother with fillers until are good, and this episode was good for me. The fillers in procuderal tv show it is something normal.

I liked this one. The crime of the week was interesting, the bad guy was repulsive, the victim was actually pretty kick-ass. Toast. What can I say? He cleans up GOOD. I complained in last week's episode about the bad evolution of Jason Duclair, but I don't know how you can do anything bad with Toast, so his evolution from loveably totally stoned to semisober and now successful and rich has been great to watch. Hope he's back, in any of his incarnations. Loved the Gilligan's Island silliness. Steve could be Mr. Howell, the way he's so cheap, he must have money hidden away. And Kono can be all of MaryAnne and Ginger and Lovey because she's so awesome.

Have had a busy day and have just been able to watch it. I enjoyed all the episode. I agree the bad guy was repulsive and when Addison went searching for her phone entering the room was creepy. I've always liked Toast was good to see him again. I prefer him to Jerry. Hope he returns. Love Steve Danny Chin and Kono working one case. Season 1 feels. The ending of the 2nd story made me smile. Good combinatiion of Max Kame and Flippa. Loved Steve's expression when Toast was disappointed there was not enough room in 1st class for everyone.

Well--it has been over 12 hours since the episode aired and no one has commented....I was really tired last night and I just went to bed without commenting. Although I have yet to watch this episode, I did check this thread on Saturday morning to read some reviews, was surprised to see not one single post at that time. Now that there are only a few reviews to read, I'm assuming that does not say much about this episode. Hope I am wrong. It's too bad every writer does not write a sweeps-worthy episode every chance they can, then these 'filler episodes' would not exist. Yes, I am aware that I'm an idealist, but it's just so sad that us viewers can tell when we've just watched a filler episode and it doesn't say much for a shows' production.

Yes, I am aware that I'm an idealist, but it's just so sad that us viewers can tell when we've just watched a filler episode and it doesn't say much for a shows' production. I was a little put off by the cliché storyline of Kamekona, Flippa and Max "marooned" on a deserted island when I knew they'd find that civilization was only a short walk away. I've seen at least three movies that have used that as either the main plot or just a little side story (as this was). By this time, I've generally watched an episode a second time but I didn't bother with this one ... and the sad thing is that having watched it, I couldn't really tell you that any part of it was a highlight for me. Okay, I take that back ... Flippa getting the flare gun to work was a highlight. I actually thought he was going to shoot it through the side or deck of the boat so at least I was surprised by what WAS shot.
