H50 surprises this season. In the first two episodes it can still be explained by good ratings of MacGyver. But this week MacGyver has 1.1, so it is really suprised that H50 has 1.3. When The Amazing Race reached 1.1, usually H50 also had 1.1. This week H50 was even better than Blue Bloods (1.2). Although one of the reasons for this ratings of H50 this season may be a huge drop of Shark Tank (other ABC tv show also has a worse ratings in Friday than a year ago). A year ago, the first three episodes of Shark Tank: 1.6, 1.7, 1.5. This season: 1.1, 1.1, 1.1. Next week will be baseball, I'm curious if it will affect on ratings of H50.

Even the Bear is surprised by ratings of H50. In the last few years, he always predicted "likely to be canceled by May" or "tossup between renewal and cancellation by May". Meanwhile, now after three episodes of season 7 he predicts "likely to be renewed by May".

This time last season, the Bear was ready to write off “Hawaii Five-0” after it premiered to a 1.0 in adults 18-49. It didn’t get above 1.1 until January.

This year? With “MacGyver” getting off to a big start, “Five-0” premiered to a 1.4, matching its season high from 2015-16. “MacGyver” has fallen each week since then, but “Hawaii Five-0” hasn’t. It’s been at 1.3 for the past two weeks.

Those are solid numbers, especially for a Friday — last week it was the top show on the night. It’s on track for a renewal.
