What an emotional episode. I fall into pieces during this Max's farewell party, there were tears, it shows how much I love this show, and how much I liked Max, and how much I will miss him. I really liked how everything was done with the departure of Max. Great idea of journal, so we saw a few scenes with Max from previous seasons. And it was easy to do, because Jerry appeared in the series until the fourth season. The end is something amazing, emotional, and essence of scenes with Ohana. Max finally opened up before the others, and his speech, and then goodbye to them, and yet different scenes from previous seasons, with the music, and then the song with the words "All good things got to come to an end", I was a just emotionally wreck. One of the best farewells of character in the tv shows ever. Just they do everything as they should, they proudly goodbye to him
I will really miss Max.. But that does not necessarily mean a total end because, as the actor himself revealed in an interview, there he is nothing against this, to appear in the future, as guest from time to time in the show, eg. dressing up for Halloween for Keenu Reevese character, or by Skype or by telephone. So maybe we will see him again one day? It would be beautiful. Besides, it confirmed what was expected. Noealni replace Max. For now, hard to say something more about her, because we see her a little, but if she get a little more air time, the more we will be able to tell her about. Certainly cool that this is someone who is Hawaiian, Of course I would prefer Mindy from the 5th season, but apparently the actress was unavailable.
Of course farewell Max is not the only storyline in the episode, because we have of course "case of the week", and I must say it was very good and interesting, with a few twists. It was nice to finally hear 'Book'em Danno'. Finally, because the last time they used this phrase, during the premiere of the fifth season. I hope that now they will from time to time use this phrase, because it a legendary phrase, and I always liked when they used 'Booke'em Danno' on the show. Besides, it was great to see again Hirsch and Frank. And that's it. Now I have to somehow take a rest after this emotions with Max.

For me this was a very poor episode
The only good parts out of this episode are Steve and Grover at the beginning. Steve working a bit with Kono Max party and speech We get a Book em Danno which we have not had since season 5.01 to long
The very bad
Hirsch can not stand this character and the abuse he gives Kono every time he see her. What a stupid idiot for cashing Steve new truck and why was he at the party. Jerry to much of him Waist of time Frank Bama being in the episode I laughed when Max seeing Danny as a Role Model every time Danny saw Max over the 7 seasons he verbally abused him

This episode was ok, not great. The COTW was ridiculous. Such a big explosion and they weren't first on scene? Plus Too convoluted... I did like Max's party at the end - liked the ohana moments. Liked seeing Danny with Charlie- where was Sabrina or Adam? Agree - what a waste of Jimmy Buffet. Do we really need another side character? Don't like Jerry or Hirsh I am interested to see where the uranium is.....

Actress did not have time because she is busy, which even mentioned Masi in an interview.

Grover lecturing Steve on the proper way to eat a malasada was both funny and irritating, the later only because it went on too long. Ditto for Hirsch. Why do PL/writers have to take something that is funny and ruin it? It's all about balance and they tend to go overboard with things. Hirsch had no place at the party other than to just act stupid. COTW was okay, but the explosion was too played-down and therefor unrealistic. And... Bam!!! --- they ruined Bama, too. What a wasted opportunity. Although Max's uncharacteristic display of emotion was both touching and fitting for the ending; Danny should not be his role model beyond police work, and Sabrina should have been there. Yes, I know the actress was unavailable, but that should have been taken into account early enough for filming to make it happen. Adam should have been there, too. Although I'm not a fan of Jerry, at least he served more of a purpose in this episode. Doubtful that Max would have been forthcoming with his feelings without Jerry's prodding. But again, the writers went a bit overboard.
