In interview for CBS Watch! Magazine, Alex said that he feels so much better he sees himself doing another season or two.
Fragment of the interview: Signed on to Hawaii Five-0 through eight seasons, he began talking about walking away while he felt still could. But recently he's felt his workload lighten, and those stem cell injections? They've been "magic", he says. Does this mean he might challenge Jack Lord's record 12 seasons as McGarrett? "That would be a miracle," O'Loughlin says with a laugh. "But I can see coming back and doing another season or two. I think this show is every thing. It's the core of it all".

I had stem cell treatment in my right hip which had degenerated (the socket) to the point that it was so painful that I couldn't stand up for more than a minute or two without having to find a place to sit down. Now I go about my daily activities and can even go hiking without any pain. I'm glad someone introduced him to that therapy. You're using your own body to heal other parts of your body and it's truly amazing. I can see why he'd say they're "magic" as I feel the same way! I'm so glad to hear that he's decided he can continue on with the show. It's really a life-changing therapy and I'm happy for him personally and for us as well.
