Ian Anthony Dale has been promoted to series regular and Meaghan Rath and Beulah Koale have joined the cast of Hawaii Five-O, which begins its eighth season September 29 on CBS. The trio was cast following the departures of series vets Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park, who were not able to agree on new deals to return for another season. Dale has recurred as Adam Noshimuri since season two, becoming a trusted confidant and resource for the team who will now be recruited by McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) to work for Five-0. Rath will play Tani Rey, who McGarrett (O’Loughlin) recruits after finding her working as a lifeguard at a hotel pool after she was kicked out of the Police Academy, despite being a first-rate candidate. Koale will portray Junior Reigns, a former Navy SEAL who just returned from serving his country and asks McGarrett, a fellow SEAL, for a job, hoping to repurpose his skills as a member of Five-0. Dale stars in Salvation, which premieres this summer on CBS. Rath is known for her starring roles in Being Human and Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life and recurring roles in Secrets and Lies and New Girl. Koale will star opposite Miles Teller in the feature film “Thank You for Your Service,” which premieres Oct. 27. Hawaii Five-O, produced by CBS Television Studios, stars Alex O’Loughlin, Scott Caan, Chi McBride, Jorge Garcia, Taylor Wily, Kimee Balmilero and Dennis Chun. Peter Lenkov, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Eric Guggenheim are the executive producers. deadline.com/2017/07/hawaii-five-o-ian-anthony-dale-promoted-meaghan-rath-beulah-koale-join-cast-1202131538/

Well Beulah Kaole sound promising and interesting being a NAVY SEAL could mean more Seal stories for Steve and back ground stories from the pass.
Meaghan Rath will have to wait and see how good she is doing the fight scene and kick ass stuff
Adam what did I say at the end of season 7 Adam will be joining the team. So no training of Police work between Adam and Jerry what a joke. How will that work with Adam with Kono not their have they split up.

Meaghan will be amazing addition to cast, because she is a great actress. She played cop in Banshee and Rogue, so she has has experience. Beulah is a little known actor but has an interesting role because he will be Navy Seals, and his relationship with Steve has great potential. As for Ian Anthony Dale I am not quite sure. But I think one of the reasons may be that Scott will not be again in five episodes in season, Jorge in every season is about seven episodes less than Alex, and Ian will not be in any episode because he plays one of the main roles in CBS show Salvation. And also that he is a very much liked by the fans he is Asian-American, and Adam will inform what is going on with Kono, and in the episodes where he is absent they can explain that he flew to Kono. Adam has a lot of contacts because he was a businessman and boss of Yakuza. So he will have different connections with criminals, and his contacts can help with various case of the week. But I hope he will mostly be in the Five-0 headquaters. And in the field will be: Steve, Danny, Grover, Tani, and Junior. Some people have complained that Hawaii Five-0 whitewashing the cast. Only Alex and Scott look white. Chi is Afroamerican, Jorge is born American, but his father is a Cuban, and his mother is Chilean, so he can be considered Latino. Beulah is a New Zealander, but has Samoan descent, so his charcter may be Hawaiian. Meantime Meaghan, the family from her mother's side is the Indian, and from father is from Austrian and the British. Ian Anthony Dale is an Asian American. So we have two caucasians, African, Asian, Latino, Samoan, and Indian. Very diverse cast.

Glad to see Ian Anthony Dale as a regular. Welcome to the newbies. There seems to be some good reports about Meaghan. Haven't seen any of her work nor of Beulah. Looking forward to see what happens.

Yes. What I read and what I saw with her on Youtube, Meaghan is a great actress. She should be amazing addition to the show. These two new characters can introduce freshness, potential for interesting new storylines, and relationships with the rest of Five-0 can also be interesting.

When AOL said he didn't think he would stay on the show past 8, Lenkov said it will continue without him. I can't help but wonder if choosing a SEAL could be to replace AOL if he doesn't continue.
I sure hope not. It's not 50 with out AOL and McGarrett.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Jackiee

Thanks, Jackiee In interview for Watch Magazine from May, Alex said that he feels so much better he sees himself doing another season or two. So it's already outdated news, because Alex changed his mind about leaving.

I wonder what this means from Dennis Chun face book
Dennis Chun

Update from #dennischun
CBS will make a separate announcement concerning Taylor, Kimee and myself. We cannot say anything till they announce it which should be soon so the blackout continues. Below is a post welcoming the new cast members announced yesterday. Again mum is the word.
Want to say aloha and welcome to Meaghan and Beulah as they join Hawaii Five-0. Especially glad to have Ian back. Looking forward to an exciting Season 8. All photos courtesy of CBS.

The way they included them as part of the cast makes me think they might be part of the opening credits. Quite a crowd for the opening but it would make sense after being regulars (Taylor and Dennis) for so long ... and Kimee replaced Masi and he was included in the opening credits so why not her.

I was right Taylor, Dennis, and Kimee will be in regular cast in season 8. According Star Advertiser, Beth Haiken, vice president of CBS Entertainment Communications, confirmed this via phone on Thursday. Now we wait for CBS announcement with details. I doubt that their roles will increase very much, they will just be a little bigger than before. I think role Taylor may be similiar as earlier (with one-two episodes with his storylines). Dennis Chun in some episodes will be more than 1-2 scenes in episode, maybe in one episode will be storyline with him, or even centric episode. Same with Kimee. And probably in a few more episodes they will appear. Last season Taylor appeared in 14 episodes, Dennis in 13 episodes, and Kimee in 11 episodes.

I've been a huge fan since day 1, but I'm just not feeling it this year. I'll certainly give it a shot and hopefully I'll be pulled back in.
