Finally a very good episode. After three solid episodes, we finally have a big increase in the level of H50. The case of the week was much better, which strongly affected the episode. Villains unusual for Hawaii Five-0. because usually terrorists have different motives. We had great character scenes. The scene from beginning with the whole team and Eddie was the best in the whole episode, very funny, with great Danny. I liked that in the episode for some time Danny was the leader. Steve was less, because Alex was prepping his directional episode while they were shooting scenes for episode 8.17. Tani, I just love her. I love her sarcasm. It was also great to see Adam with the whole team and see Odell again. Now we have three amazing promising episodes ahead of us.

I wondered if there was a rewrite in the beginning when they are talking about the emergency drill. I was thinking it was filmed after they were all exposed to the missile warning that turned out to be a mistake for real in Hawaii....it was a great discussion....

I wondered if there was a rewrite in the beginning when they are talking about the emergency drill. I was thinking it was filmed after they were all exposed to the missile warning that turned out to be a mistake for real in Hawaii....it was a great discussion.... Unless they re-filmed it, there was no rewrite. 8.17 was filmed in December before Christmas and the missile warning was in January. I remember thinking that it was a good thing the Olympics were in February so it would put a little time between the real warning and the H5-0 warning storyline. It's not the first time H5-0 has found themselves in an art-imitates-life situation. In May, 2013, the day they aired the episode about the 17-year-old girl who was found dead after being missing for ten years, that was the day they found the girls in Cleveland who'd been missing for 10 years. Real life had a happier ending since all the girls, now women, were all alive while Five-0 was brought into it because Amanda was found dead and they were only able to rescue the little girl, Ella. But that was an amazing coincidence. I'm only guessing but I think, if there hadn't been a couple months between the missile warning and the planned air date of this episode, they might have moved things around. Didn't they do that with 8.02 and 8.03 when the planned 8.02 dealt with a mass shooting (the crime bosses)shortly after the Las Vegas music festival shooting? I'm pretty sure I remember Junior being introduced a week earlier than expected because he was supposed to show up in 8.03 but showed up in the second episode aired. And I think I remember reading somewhere (maybe here) that CBS moved the planned episode because of the mass shooting.
