Great episode. Two strong storylines. The first was connected to McGarrett father, which always brings us a great scenes with Steve, because it's always emotional for him. It was cool to get a flashbacks with younger John, btw they did a great job with casting the actor, he looks similar. It was also nice to see Frankie Faison, whom I know Banshee. A great casting for Leroy.
Second storyline is the continuation of Adam's storyline with this new player. Now we have confirmation that this player is his half-sister, Noriko. She resembles Michelle Shioma a bit, but she's even more ruthless and dangerous. She threatened Chin and Kono, so Adam had to do everything he could to save them. I honestly thought that Jessie might die in this episode because she was not in the press release in 8.20, 8.21, and 8.22, and actress joned to the new pilot. And I was right. But it was shocking anyway. However, I was not expecting Agent McNeal death.

Good episode well one story line was very good the other boring
Love anything to do with Steve background and his family we have not had a story like this since season 5 the last time was then Wo Fat died been too long. A very emotional episode which Alex kills as always. Love all the scene with Steve and Leroy Love all the flashback scene with young John and Leroy and young Steve The one flashback where Leroy was going to kill John but was saved because Doris was going into labour with baby Steve you could say Steve saved his father from being killed. Loved the part where his victims family members received closure and thanking McGarrett for his help and giving Steve a Lei very emotional.
Adam story like before if Steve and the team were involved from the beginning I would have been more interested in what was happening but I don't really care if Adam has a half sister or not or when Jessie got killed either. How many times is Adam going to get kidnapped in this story line off his. Just takes time away from more interesting story lines with the team. Adam should just go back to where every Kono is and be her husband.

Well--it was a good ep. I don't get why they have had so little Danny/Steve interaction in these eps. In this one, it was a fluff conversation about electrical violations at the restaurant and the Palace. With all the high tech computer stuff at H50 HQ are we really supposed to believe that the place wasn't wired for that kind of stuff. And then there was no conclusion to that plot line. WTF?
The Adam story line is just meh. Don't know where it is going, but it needs to end. Wondering if Adam will end up dead, too.
The main story about Steve and the serial killer was good. But, why have Steve work alone? Why aren't he and Danny working together any more? The flashbacks were good....casting for his younger father was spot on.
I began wondering several seasons ago if there was some sort of rift between Alex and Scott and if that is why they do limited scenes anymore. (Granted, every few eps they do work more together) That is what it feels like to me...obviously I don't know squat about what goes on behind the scenes--but, it is just a gut feeling I have.

It's more about the presence of Scott on the set of the show. So in some episodes we have fewer scenes with them than in others episodes.

Hi davilarose I was thinking that Adam might get killed off by his sister the talk on twitter Adam story line come to the end next week 8.20 hopefully that that will be the end of Adam. The reason for not much Scott he wants his time off even in a middle of a episode he goes home to LA at the start of episode 8.19 he only filmed for 2 days then went home for 3 weeks and came back in the middle of filming 8.21. Five 0 has too many characters now to fit in so they all need air time which means less of Steve and Danny together. I am sure Alex and Scott get on alright obviously I don't know what goes on behind the scene either.

Storyline might be end in episode 8.20 (although I think that his sister's storyline will return in the season 9), but Adam will be in 8.22, because I remember that Ian was on set. In two-three last episodes he will not be, because of the Salvation, the filming started when the H50 filmed the last 1-2 episodes. Ian for sure will be back in season 9, because he is very liked by fans. Even Alex talked about him in a recent interview.
"Ian is amazing. First of all, he looks like a movie star. He's so handsome. He's so talented. He's such a collaborator. He's a charming guy and such a pleasure to work with. I really hope we have him around for a long time."

Or I was think Adam could kill his sister and then he would be top dog and in charged again and then become the enemy of Five 0 next season if we get one. That would be cool and would fool a lot of fans.

I agree- I am done with the Adam storyline. Did you see that 2-bit hotel Kono was supposed to be at? and Adam stays in Hawaii?? Does not make sense. Also I,too, miss the bromance story lines-those episodes are few and far between. Wonder if Danno is coming back since he can't seem to stay in Hawaii for 1 whole episode. I know this question comes up every year since he stated he prefers LA to Hawaii.... Loved all the backstory for McG. We have seen a lot of backstory for Danno so this was timed nicely. Loved the ending with the families thanking McG....

I just want to say that I understand why they have Adam in Hawaii and not with Kono. He told Steve when he came back that he was following Kono around the country from motel/hotel to motel/hotel. So just because they knew what motel Kono was in "this week" doesn't mean she'll be there "next week". That's part of her storyline; she's going where the job takes her. So I think it makes sense that Adam isn't following her around. At Christmas he was meeting her in, if I'm recalling correctly, L.A. so it's clear that she's moving and not in a single location.
That doesn't necessarily mean that I like his storyline. I like Ian Anthony Dale but the idea that someone with a Yakuza background is now working for/with Five-0 just seems like a real stretch. It all seems designed to bring another Noshimuri (even if she is just a half-sister) into the story and that also seems like a real stretch.
