a friend of mine who is not a believer in marriage, just told me that her b/f bought an engagement ring for her, but instead of giving her the ring, showed her the receipt for it. which is kind of weird. he then started giving out to her as well.  confused and so it my poor friend |

What do you mean, "giving out"?
Does he actually have the ring, or is it being engraved maybe, or something? What did he say about it?

i'm not sure about that part yet. we didn't talk because she's upset at the moment. from what i did get, he's after taking time off in the next couple of weeks so they can get married and go on a honeymoon. *rolleyes*
well he's gonna be waiting a long time.
as for giving out, he shouted at her for saying no to him.

she ain't no shrew. i'm still only hearing small details via txt, but she never gave him any indication she wanted to marry him. he spent 4 weeks wage on the ring and actually took time off work for the wedding and the honeymoon, by the looks of things he's had this planned for a while. doh.
