I agree with August Rush being a wonderful movie! Oh and I just saw The Mighty Macs last night. You might want to check that one out too.
And Fireproof! Great movie on marriage!

That sounds fun! If you ever get around to posting it, would you let me know? I'd love to read it! Wouldlike to beta? I was going to use Project Beta, but they were kinda rude in their review of chapter 2 which is why I haven't continued with it. Beta? I'm sorry...I'm not sure I know what you mean...

Lady Mackenzie, I watched Fireproof. I really appreciate those good wholesome movies. I have always respected the amazing stand that Kirk Cameron and his sister take about God and their personal relationship with Him. Plus, I agree wholeheartedly. That's a great movie for couples who want help strengthening their marriages. My sister and some of her friends are working through the Love Dare Bible study that you hear about at the end of that movie.

My husband and I did a Love Dare Bible Study before we saw the movie. We watched the movie at the end of the Bible Study (the movie came out on DVD the same week as the last week of the Bible Study). We loved it and it strengthened our marriage. (And we didn't have any bad problems. Just the normal don't make enough on one income problems.) But it did bring us closer. And the icing on the cake was that we were able to help a younger couple in the class that needed some spiritual guidance. :-)
So even if you're not having any problems, this Bible Study and/or just the movie by itself can help your marriage to be even better!

Drive Angry was my favourite recent watch. It had us in stitches - it wasn't played for laughs, but it had some really funny moments. It reminded me a bit of a Tarantino film, if Tarantino's deep and abiding love for himself weren't quite so hard to ignore.
On the other hand, I was really disappointed by Thor. It seemed like everyone was raving about it, and it was good but I was expecting more, somehow.

I watched it with reluctance and was very pleasantly surprised. I do give Kirk Cameron a great deal of credit for speaking out and not hiding his beliefs.
