As many of you have noticed there has been some changes going on the forum over the last couple of weeks, these changes include the New Topic Button going away and the board titles and description becoming more pronounced. The reason for these changes is due to some incidents that have occurred over this past fall where some members of the board have thought that is was alright to raid the forum for exclusive spoiler information and post it to other sites while at the same time trashing the members of this site and their opinions. So to prevent this from occurring in the future, three levels of access to the forum have been created. 1. The first is the guest level. At this level you will only have access to read the public areas of the board which are the Hawaii Five-0 Lounge (The general discussion area), the Hawaii Five-0 Awards, The Hawaii Five-0 Games, The Hawaii Five-0 Spoilers (which will be a spoiler area for general spoilers that are already out in the public domain, i.e. press releases from CBS, promos videos that are airing on CBS, and things of those sort), The Off-Topic Lounge, and the Forum Help. 2. The next level up is the member level where you will be able to both read and post messages to the above areas in addition to having the ability to read and post to The Actors Lounge (which is an area to discuss things about the cast of Hawaii Five-0 both in relation to their role on the show and about their roles in other projects) and the Hawaii Five-0 FanFiction board (which is where you can read and post about Hawaii Fan-Fiction). In order to gain access at this level you must become a register member of the site. As always if you have any question, issues or suggestions on how to make the board even better you can always private message me under admin here on the board or email me at H50Reboot@gmail.com. Thanks. Di (Admin of H50Reboot)

About a week ago it was pointed out to me that we really didn’t have any rules posted to the site for new members to read, so that they would know what is and is not acceptable to post and that this makes it difficult on new members. So to this end, I have spent the better part of the last week struggling with not only how to put in to words concepts that are truly not black or white, but also trying to decide what should and shouldn’t be acceptable on the board as I am a true believer in the US first amendment which states everyone has the right to state their opinion, regardless of whether that opinion is liked or not. I have no desire to be the opinion police that censors what can and can’t be posted to the site unlike some other sites that deletes posts that don’t totally agree with their point of view or thinks that only positive opinions about the show should be posted to social media outlets. On the other hand, I also don’t think that we the fans have the right to know and discuss every aspect of someone’s private life, just because they have chosen to star in a hit show. To this end, instead of giving hard and fast rules, what I have tried to do is to give general guidelines that hopefully balance these two competing concepts and that I hope we can all agree on, with the caveat that there are always going to be situations that come up that is going to have to be dealt with on the fly as they don’t technically fall in to a specific category. So here are the guidelines: - Discussion about the public lives of the public members of the cast and crew :
- Public members of the show are defined as those members of the cast and crew that have chosen to be in the public spotlight. This would include the regular and the recurring cast of the show (Alex, Scott, Daniel, Grace, Masi, Taylor Wiley, Terry O’Quinn, Lauren German, etc) and those on the crew that have chosen to interact with the public like the executive producers, Peter Lenkov and Bob Orci.
- Given that these people have made an informed decision to be in the public eye knowing that the consequences of that decision would be that various aspects of their public lives related to the show would become open to be discussed and critiqued (including but not limited to how they act both on and off screen at public events, what they look like, what they say in interviews to legitimate sources (see below) and on social media (Twitter, Facebook, CBS’s Site)), it is acceptable to discuss these things. Though I would hope that most people would do so respectfully, and if it looks like rumors or facts not established through legitimate sources are starting to creep into the discussion or that the discussion is becoming spiteful and/or hateful the admin and the moderator does reserve the right to intervene to shut the conversation down.
- Private Lives of the Cast and Crew:
- This one is probably the most straight forward areas to deal with in that the basic rule that applies here is that if it is an aspect of their private lives that involves someone else who is not in the public eye (i.e., spouses, girl friends, significant others, children, parents, siblings, friends) or really has no impact on the show like the state of someone's health then it shouldn’t be discussed or posted about on the board. But like all things there are exceptions to this rule in that if someone decides to give an interview to a legitimate source (to be discussed further down) or post to social media (twitter, facebook, CBS’s site, etc) in which they chose to reveal details about their private lives or about those not in the public eye, then the actual facts that have been revealed are allowable to be discuss, as long you are not adding facts to the discussion that haven’t been established in legitimate sources. Also, if someone who is not in the public eye chooses to attend a public event where it is known that legitimate press will be in attendance (not paparazzi and/or gossip columnists) then it is also allowable to discuss their appearance there, as long as you are not adding unsubstantiated rumors to the situation.
- Legitimate Sources:
- This one is a little bit harder to define as there are many, many, many legitimate sources of information in regards to Hawaii Five-0. As such, it is easier for me state what is not a legitimate sources, those would include gossip magazines (things like the National Enquirer, Star Magazines, Midweek.com, etc.), gossip columnists (things like Perez Hilton, etc.) and or gossip internet sites (like TMZ, Who is dating Who, etc. ) Now by no means is this a comprehensive list, so if you have a question please contact either the Admin (Diana) or Moderator (DarkSea) privately though the private message system, if you have a question about whether or not something is legitimate or not.
- Also, as for personal blogs, I am going side on saying that as long as they are simply stating one’s personal opinion about a subject or their personal perspective of what occurred during a situation and not just trying to spread rumors, I am going to allow them to be discussed, since it would be highly hypocritical for us to sit here and discuss our opinions and not allow other to have their opinions discussed also. Though the one caveat I will ask everyone is when it comes to personal blogs entries is that they read them with a critical eye as to whether the author is simply stating what their opinion/perspective is without any supporting facts that can be corroborated with outside sources, if so please be highly critical of them since there is always three sides to every situation, yours, mine and the truth. And, to realize that most the other members of the site will probably dissect them and point out the flaws in their arguments, especially if it a blog in which the vast majority of the members disagree with, as that is the nature of a discussion forums and be prepared for it.
As always if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me using the private message system.

We truly to appreciate all the new names and faces we have here on this board, newer individuals do add spice, and more detail to intelligent conversations.
That being said, and this is a warning to all. There are several features to this board, that are in place to keep you safe, and to give you protections against harassment, spam, and other unsatisfactory issues that may arise. They should only be used in extreme emergencies and cases.
Most of the day, one of, Di and myself check in, and we check every message to assure that there is nothing hinkey going on. You don't always see us, but one of us is generally around. If you are uncomfortable with a post, our PM boxes are always open.
Do not abuse the 'Report to Mod' link, and please do not abuse the 'Exalt' and 'Smite' links. Excessive use of these buttons keeps us from doing other things that provide the services you all have come to know and love here. Newcomers, if you accidentally hit this link, then I advise you be just a bit more careful. There is quite a distance between reply and Report to Mod. If you don't agree with a viewpoint, then feel free to post publicly and question that view point, or PM myself or Diana if you are uncomfortable. Use 'Report to Mod' only in extreme emergencies. Please? If there is porn on the site, or pictures of animal mutilations, then by all means, report to mod. If you just don't share the same view, PM us or debate it.
Thank you.
