Very suprised that we won the group, I think they will need to play better against Italy but they have done a lot better than anybody expected so you never know.
I agree sunnyirish I am still going for Spain.

Yeah I think I'm going to join the two of you in going for Spain..... England got kinda lucky with that goal not being given....Was watching the ITV coverage and it seemed to have crossed the line to me......

Yes it was very lucky it was over the line by some distance.

They really need to bring in goal-line technology.....similar to what they have with hawkeye in the tennis..... Too many goals are going unawarded for lots of teams without it!

Yes it does seem a bit old fashioned in this day and age to rely on the human eye, I mean the guy was right near the net how did he miss it.

Excellent question! It is old-fashioned for sure....I don't think it makes tennis or rugby less interesting or exciting to watch when they break to check things....I think it adds to it since it ensures the right decisions are made, as much as possible anyway.

You are so right , if you get something like this in the final for instance it could cause one hell of an uproar. Its time that UEFA got it sorted.

I totally agree with you! What UEFA do and think is a whole other thing!

Yes it does seem a bit old fashioned in this day and age to rely on the human eye, I mean the guy was right near the net how did he miss it. I needed slow-mo replay on my TV to decide that it had gone in. In a split second without benefit of replay, I don't blame that ref for missing it. The bigger goat, IMO, is the assistant ref who missed the offside call earlier in the play that should have negated the goal anyway. But they do need video replay or goal-line technology. It is ridiculous that in 2012 this is not fixed, especially after the horrible mistake in the England-Germany quarterfinal. There is so much money riding on this sport, you'd think everyone would want to make sure the results are based on what actually happened, not on what somebody THINKS happened.

Good luck to Spain tonight, should be a good match. That turned out to be soooooo boring. Spain are a great side, but their tactics lull me to sleep. Pass pass pass pass pass pass etc. etc. Half the time I feel like Iker Casillas should just go sit on the bench because it's not like the other team will come near there anyway. Portugal should be a good match-up for them, though. And Italy-Germany will be great.
