Hey Everyone, I don't know if this is the place to put this so Mods, feel free to move it! I'm wondering and hoping that someone has some tips for drying out a mobile phone that took an unexpected bath this morning. It's currently dismantled across my desk in the hopes that it'll dry out on its own but any help will be gratefully received! Thankfully it isn't a smartphone or I would literally be crying right now  Thanks  Fiona |

Oh no , I got one of mine wet once and put it in the airing cupboard to dry out slowly. There is always the old trick that they use on tv where they put the sym card in a bag of rice to draw out the moisture, but I have not tried that one.

Thanks gbird! Yeah the airing cupboard and drying out slowly sounds like my only option.....Sadly I don't think I have the patience haha! Plus I'm not sure the phone will recover to be honest; it got seriously dunked  I spilt a bit of coffee on one years ago and it almost came good but this is a whole other ball game I think I see phone shopping in my future  Fiona |

I think you are right, sometmes they are never the same after a dunking.
I had a panic the other day , I thought I had put mine in the washing machine.. thankfully I was wrong. Now I double check everything before it goes in the wash.

lol. i was gonna mention chin's trick with the rice. hawaii five-0 to the rescue. :lol:
personally i would put it on a radiator or in the hot press.

I'll put it my the radiator when I go home but I don't think it's looking promising At the very least, the screen is definitely a goner. Good thing i have all my numbers backed up  Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I really appreciate it  Fiona |

Well the phone is in pieces in a bag of rice by the radiator.....I think that covers just about all the advice I was given today.....Here's hoping the combination works Thanks everyone for your help Fiona |

Well my mobile got taken out of rice-ICU a little while ago and......drum roll please.........It's working fine so far I'm so relieved to get it back working Thanks to everyone for their help with this, I greatly appreciate it Fiona |

You can always update your phone through your phone provider.

Thanks Yeah it's amazing what our favourite tv shows can teach us....And this time I'm very glad Chin used rice for the sim and that it worked for the whole phone I would have updated through my provider but I'm not entitled to one at the moment.....I'll just have to bide my time a few more months til Christmas I think Fiona |
