wait a minute, you guys had advert breaks in the states?? shocking. i thought the lighting of the flame was perfect and a wow moment. proud moment watching ireland walk through and hearing those cheers. have a good feeling about this one. oh and the flame will be moved to higher ground, i think they just wanted it to be in the center for everyone to see.

I thought the presentation was great. Having spent alot of time in London growing up, I think they showcased themselves wonderfully. The parade of nations is always long but interesting to hear the little tidbits of information. I am out of town with some friends and it was nice to cheer for our "mother countries". . Unfortunately the TV network has to show commercials, because its an expensive event to broadcast and if they pause and continue it would never end. It began at 730 and didn't end until 12:00 as it was. Overall I enjoyed it. I wish the athletes much success and hopefully the events go smoothly.

Sounds like the opening ceremony was great, unfortunate I was sitting in the dark from 6pm to 11pm last night due to no electric and by extension no internet, so no opening ceremony for me. The good news is now thanks to the internet I will be downloading here in a little bit for my viewing enjoyment. ;D Though I have to say that there is one thing I am really hating about the Olympics ... Chicago Fire Promos. Yep, I had forgotten all about NBC being the exclusive provider here in the US for the Olympics coverage. It really sucks as I get happy watching the US athletes do well then a damn promo comes on and I am cringing and wanting to throw things when a certain someones face pops up. I also hate that NBC is promoting Revolution really heavily too, because it means that CBS and H50 are really going to have to be on the top of their game to counteract hype for Revolution that being built during the Olympics, especially since the promos they are running are making it out to look a TV version of the Hunger Games.

I am find myself watching all sorts of sports that I dont usually watch . I am really enjoying the swimming. I really enjoyed the opening ceremony all though some of it had me a bit confused, but in all I was very proud of what they did. Loved the couldron and the lighting around the stadium was amazing .

I know what you mean about the promos. I am on a working vacation with friends and family and every time "Her" face pops up, everyone goes "yuk". The one thing I did notice is that she is usually in the background and there are some promos she isn't even in. Now Revolution might take away some viewers at the beginning for curiosity, but hopefully it will not live up to expectations and will sizzleout like Smash did. I really hope CBS gets on the ball this year and promotes H50 both on TV and on the talk show circuit.

Hi everyone it's Monday I am off to the Olympics for the day. I have tickets for the Tennis at Wimbledon Center Court. Count me in for being jealous too, even if I'm not big on tennis. Just being at Wimbledon would be major cool. Don't forget to tell us how it went, like how you got there and the atmosphere and lines and security and all. Are you going to collect pins? You guys may not know, there are thousands of pins, and some of them are exclusive to the sports venues. Like mandyblue will see special pins only sold right there at Wimbledom. Which is cool. Eek!

you know those mam adverts that they have for olympics? not that i don't agree that mum's do a lot, but what about dads?? do they not get a say in any of this? dad can help their children as well. I just read an online article saying the exact same thing. There is one ad on Canadian channels featuring both Moms and Dads. I don't remember what company/product the ad is for, though (which would seem to indicate the ad is a failing a bit ETA: here's a link to the article, and apparently the company I couldn't remember is Petro Canada. www.torontosun.com/2012/07/29/tilleyvision--day-2
