@danieldaekim: What #Olympics rule says the size of the men's diving speedos cannot exceed the size of a 5 year old boy's underoos?

One of the American Olympians said he hasn't had dessert in 4 years! Can you imagine? Such dedication to a sport is amazing!

Micheal Phelps congrats on winning your 19th medal. the largest haul of medals ever won by an Olympian ever!!! that's impressive. now the guy can go off the rail and eat what ever he wants I hate to tell you this but he pretty much already eats what he wants given at the height of his training it was estimate he has to eat about 7000 calories a day just to maintain his weight.

Just saw the (American) women's gymnastics team win the gold medal! Hooray! They did a fabulous job, they finished up on the floor exercise and were practically flawless, a wonder to see. Very happy. Seemed like everybody in the audience is over the moon too. Poor Russians, they sorta came apart - like the American men did the other night. We didn't get to see much of the other nations compete, I would have liked to see more of the Chinese too. That's been the case, I don't know why, we're not seeing much of the other teams. But it was lovely to see our girls do so well. Hooray!!!

I think she is probably dirty but it probably won't be detectable for some years as the steroids/stimulants and masking agents are always one step ahead of the testing. Given that, yeah, I think it's pointless to talk about it now. This happened about 15 years ago with an Irish swimmer who made similar huge improvements over a very short time frame and tested clean but was found to have been doping 2 years later when the testing improved. Of course, I also think the Chinese faked passports at the last Olympics and brought underage gymnasts, so I'm not inclined to give them much benefit of the doubt or believe their denials.
It was really sweet how excited and dazed that South African swimmer was over beating Michael Phelps. He looked like he was expecting to wake up from a dream the whole way through the medal ceremony. And his father had the cutest interview with BBC, I thought he would explode with pride.

why is it then that commentators are commenting on the fact Phelps can have his favourite dessert soon. yeah, michelle smith got a ban for using illegal substance, but her medals were never taken away. as much as i like to give the chinese the benefit of the doubt here, i've always been a little suspicious, which is rather sad to be honest

Watching the USA team win the relay gave me goose bumps . Well done Phelps and the rest of the team. I am sure that my TV did not do justice to the noise in that stadium. I am really enjoying the swimming which is not a sport that I have rally watched before, good luck to the GB swimmers today .
